If Bruce Willis was in dat Spielberg film there's every chance of that happening. A lot of the stories centre on Bruce basically taking it upon himself to second-guess the director, telling people what to do and where to go in a scene, how it should be shot and so on.

Yup, the guy is just a prick. He'd probably try it on the set of a Spielberg film... though I doubt even ol' Stevie would hire him.

Tom Cruise was pulling his Scientology crap on the set of War of the Worlds and Spielberg told him to knock it off.

Damn, is that why they haven't worked together since? I hope they make another movie.

That very well may be. It rubbed Spielberg the wrong way. He may have had a discussion with him on the prior Minority Report as well and Tom didn't heed the warning.

Anything Tom does these days is produced by Tom himself. Hollywood is happy to take his money when he's producing hits, but otherwise he's toxic with his Scientology schtick.

Much the same way Hollywood tolerates Mel Gibson like a bad rash. One more break out and they'll probably use the ointment and buh-bye Mel again.

Funny part is Tom Cruise comes off as such a nice gentleman on his commentary tracks. I'm sure that's partially actor mode, but still, he doesn't seem like a bad guy, just a twisted cult member. Which is sad.

Spielberg paces around his set like a shark and no one's allowed to even give him a cup of tea, and within 35-45 minutes, has the entire shooting strategy for the day mapped out in his head, all of it. He's freaking Mozart.

One of my favorite stories about Spielberg and how he doesn't take crap...Julia Roberts up in her Tinker Bell harness in front of a blue screen on Hook. She's having a bad time with personal issues, it's all over the press. She's dangling there, everyone's talking about the shot, Spielberg is talking with his DP. Roberts snaps. "I'M READY!" she says. Spielberg turns to her. He responds, "And I'm ready. And when he's ready, we'll all be ready."

BOOM.

Some of his interviews that turn to more serious subjects than just laughing about movie reminiscing can become quite testy and the real Tom Cruise comes out. He thinks he's L. Ron Hubbard's gift, if you know what I mean.

Eh, not so much. He just sticks to business when making the rounds on the talk show circuit. That way he doesn't get in as much trouble.

But there's a reason he has to produce the movies he stars in nowadays.

I don't buy that McQ puts up with that.

TC seems to be a perfectly professional guy on-set (from reports and interviews, anyway), that's why I'm surprised he was ever trying to indoctrinate people (on Spielberg's set, of all places). Maybe he was at the height of his career then, or maybe he thought he was friends with Spielberg enough to be able to do what he wants. I dunno. His co-stars always seem to love him, and I don't think it's just a "put on a happy face to sell our movie" thing.

But it's Hollywood. You never know what's real.

If the Dwayne Johnson can Rock a tooth fairy outfit, Bruce Willis can look stunning as a Tinkerbell.

We don't talk about that movie. If you say its name, it might re-appear.
