Ah thanks, that site is new to me, I will check it out. I checked several Nordic sites which I have purchased from before and none of them offered the title.

Looks like Disney is using a new type of amaray case for this and Ralph Break's The Internet; it's much sturdier (non of that eco stuff) and has clips for a flip tray if there are more discs. No discernable branding but it does have US and Japanese patents, might be the case they use for their Japanese releases. Anyway, it's much better than the stacked/eco cases. I like it.
Will watch the UHD later. |

Well I logged into Best Buy and got suckered by the “hurrry there’s only one left for in-store pickup” message below the steelbook. Somehow I always knew it would turn out this way.
Edit: Best Buy really has my number today because they also got me with the Ralph Breaks the Internet steelbook. Wasn't really planning on spending $70 today but again, who am I to question fate. Last edited by bradnoyes; 02-26-2019 at 02:45 PM. |

I wanted to go pick up a copy after work, but now I'm not sure whether just to wait and see if there's still a copy when I get there, or to order it for in-store pickup and then have to peel off the massive sticker they put on the slipcover (seriously do they have to do that?). It's weird that they only have 3 left already. Would've thought they'd get dozens of copies for a major Disney release. |

Grabbed the Target exclusive. Team member was loading the shipper and had an assorted case of blu/4K/exclusives of The Little Mermaid and Ralph Breaks the Internet. There was only 3 copies of The Little Mermaid exclusive, and about a dozen or so of RBTI.

This looked pretty good. Grain is managed but not horribly; the detail reminds me of the Charlie Brown collection UHDs. The color and HDR are pretty great with an overall darker image but HDR highlights add a ton of sweetness and sparkle. Sound mix isn't that bad either, probably the best Atmos I've heard from Disney so far.
Haven't watched this since, goodness, VHS? Still remember all of the music though, definitely buying that expanded legacy collection release |

I'm hoping for this as well. Besides the unknown print run, I also wonder if TLK was impacted by the fact that the signature BD was released well before the 4K, and therefore many people weren't about to double dip so soon. Whereas TLM hasn't been released since 2013, and people are likely to buy 4k (both people with current 4k equipment, as well as those just wanting to future proof).

I've had all versions of this movie. This is the best TLM has ever looked.

EDIT: Saw some unboxing videos and they all have the same typical 4K viva elite cases. Must be a select few that got this new type of casing you mentioned. |

Man, Alan Menken REALLY loves talking about the time when Howard Ashman suggested on the phone for Paige O'Hara in his dying voice to sing the word "alarming" in "Something There" like Barbra Streisand. Menken also mentioned it in the reunion extras on the 2010 and 2016 Beauty and the Beast Blu-Rays.
