Anyone here actually work at Target? I see the Target exclusive edition of Black Widow is sold out for pre-orders. Should I expect them to have any copies in store?

They usually do and I don’t work for them. But past experience has not failed me yet.

Wife works there. She said they only got 3 copies of the exclusive in. Usually get many more. Feel like this might actually be limited.

I'm trying to put together a list of Target B2G1 Movie Sales (site wide sale, not a small group of 30-40 title deals). I've searched the old deal threads and so far here's the list I came up with.

Anyone spot a listed item that really wasn't a sale or more importantly find another set of sale dates? Obviously President's Day week seems to the common thread, with more added through the years. Then the Nov Sales the last couple years and a ton of added Sales presumably Covid related.

For the last several years, I've noticed they almost always precede the Kino sales by a few weeks. Next Kino sale is in October.

I always end up using Target sales to get newer Kino product, just in case they may not make the cut in their own store sale. Then I find out a few weeks later whether I made a wise purchase, or spent more than I needed to if I'd just waited.
Usually it's a wash in total, the difference amount to pocket change- but some titles can cheaper by several bucks in one sale as opposed to the other.

And the Target sale was especially beneficial when they allowed pre-orders.

I would rack up hundreds of $ on my redcard every time one of these sales came along.

Once they invalidated pre-orders, they've become useless to me. Hard enough to find three things I want that are actually in stock and available, let alone three things in the same price range.

I'm happy for the people than can still get good use out of this sale. It used to be my favorite out of all the retailers.

Now when it rolls around, I use it as a prompt to dig deeper into my "to watch" pile to make use of the stuff I was so hot to get all those sales ago.

What's all this talk about invalidating pre-orders? I pre-ordered The Borrower, Return to Salem's Lot, and picked up Torso to go with it and everything went through just fine during the last sale in June. Not every title qualifies for the sale but I've continued to use the B2G1 sale for pre-orders for years now on titles that do qualify.

If it still works for the stuff you want to pre-order, that's great.

None of the titles on my list ever seem to qualify anymore- and pre-orders made up about 75% what I'd order in these things.

Most pre-orders aren't included in the sale, and some have had them canceled around release date. It's definitely a spin-the-wheel at this point, not a reliable method of pre-ordering.

I just signed up (and was approved for a RedCard) and I've added it to my account. It says I should also receive a $50 off coupon in the mail within the next few weeks (hopefully the B2G1 sale happens by then) so that's cool. My question: To get the additional 5% off, I have to use the RedCard for payment during the sale, right?

The 5% off is only on the amt charged on the RedCard.

A few years ago, if any part of the charge was on the Redcard then the 5% applied to the whole purchase so with a Gift card purchase, it was great to have a $50 GC and $5 Redcard charge adn get 5% on $55. They fixed that glitch for pretty obvious reasons. I want to say you got 5% just by having the RC attached to your acct, but I think that was a fever dream.

Coupons, Circle, GC amt, other CC don't get the 5% off

Non-Target Gift Cards charged to your Target Red Card get 5% off. I buy my iTunes cards @ Target to save me some money.

That's a different situation. I think Target GC bought by RC also get 5% off or at least have in many situation.

The question seemed to be paying with GC (or non Redcard)
