I am going to avoid ‘The Substance’ too. Another blind buy that is high on my list from the description and production news alone.

I'm going to see The Substance today !! so excited. I would wait and blind buy it but I really want to see it so today most likely.

Someone I watch movies often with is a fan of watching the trailer first. ... She also doesn't like sub titles. ... Oh well, these aren't the worst type of problems.

Enjoy, I like holding back on a few films for HT, those two I mentioned being major examples. Heck, they way I do things, I still have Poor Things to watch! All these titles are for next year’s viewing (probably quite early in the year due to my hype levels).

The movie that caused me to avoid trailers, especially for movies I know I will see was MI Rogue Nation where they show the famous plane scene. I would have loved to have seen that for the first time while watching the movie instead of what actually happened, which was watching it on my iPad while eating oatmeal.

Watched this on Shudder last night. Excellent, creepy horror movie recommended by Mike Flanagan. But dear lord is streaming on Shudder awful. Banding and other visual artifacts made it impossible to see dark areas. Glad to see it is on disc. I'll have to pick it up so I can see the whole movie.

The Substance is listed for a Mubi U.K. Blu release, but not until summer 2025. Hope to goodness that’s a placeholder and not a holdback with streaming.

In my youth, when I attended the cinema, I vividly remember getting excited about trailers...There were many occasions where they were the best part of the evening...LOL.

I avoid them and almost anything else about a movie until I fire it up for myself in my HT...

If I die before Tarantino makes his last movie, this will go down as the last movie I saw in a theater. I took my daughter to it's premiere at The Toronto Film Festival.

She's developed into quite the horror fanatic under my tutelage. Still, I've always been a little dismayed that she could never appreciate the genuine fear that I, growing up catholic, experienced watching THE EXORCIST...

Growing up with Jewish mythology, I was kind of hoping that this movie might do that for her... Obviously, NOTHING could live up to those lofty expectrations ..LOL...but it is a cracking film in it's own right...

I enjoyed The Substance.

Being a Horror movie it was disturbing but that's the point. Last movie I saw in theaters was Deadpool & Wolverine so it was nice to get back to the movies again.

for me I think it was 101 Dalmatian (checking on-line must have been 79 re-release). I was in a summer day camp at the time and they took us to a cinema near by to see it.

It may only get worse. Certainly most people who stream have noticed it's being crapified with regularity by ads and now ads when you pause the content and made for streaming content that simply isn't good enough for regular distribution.
