There's no telling what this monster may do before going to trial ! ! !

I'd like more biographical information on Sandusky.

Where did attend school thorough the years? What church did/does he attend??
There are many offenders who get a higher bail amoutn than $100k for non-violent offenses. Sandusky's bail was WAY too low.

Sandusky is a lifelong Penn St. guy. He played for Paterno at Penn St. from 1963-1965 and was an assiatant under Paterno from 1969-1999.

Didn't realize this till just now but one of Sandusky's sons is high up in the Cleveland Browns organization.

Seriously, if these rumors prove true I'm not sure how the school would even get donations anymore. I'm sure that Sandusky "charity" is history too.

What's taking so long? Why wasn't everyone involved fired at the same time?
Pat Forde and a couple others have reported that McQueary may be protected by Federal whistleblower laws preventing retribution for reporting this. He'd have to be charged criminally to be fired

Read another piece...one of the victims sister is a junior at PSU and has started skipping class because of jokes about being "Sanduskied" by a teacher or friend... Just appalling

I have a hard time believing that rumor. It just seems too over the top. If it would be true having boosters involved with be a major violation of NCAA rules, right? If so, I'm pretty sure the NCAA would blast Penn State back to the stone age.

The Sandusky Charity dumped him in 2002 so i think even they knew something was up.

Probably just protecting his ass, but still this story gets weirder by the day.

http://openchannel.msnbc.msn.com/_ne...tells-nbc-news

Quote:
Joe Paterno has reached out to a prominent Washington criminal defense lawyer to represent him in the Penn State sex abuse case, a source close to the case told NBC News.

J. Sedgwick Sollers, who once represented President George H.W. Bush in the Iran-Contra affair, was contacted by Paterno's advisers on Thursday. But Sollers has not yet met with Paterno, and a formal retainer agreement has not been signed.

The longtime Penn State football coach was fired Wednesday night after disclosures in a grand jury report that one of his assistants informed him in 2002 about an alleged incident of sexual abuse by former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

Paterno has not been charged with any crimes in the case. He has been described as a cooperating witness in the case. Two other university officials told by Paterno about the alleged incident were charged this week with failing to report Sandusky's conduct to legal authorities and perjury.

Sollers declined to comment Thursday night. He is the managing partner in the Washington office of King & Spalding, a major Atlanta-based law firm. A spokesman for Paterno said in an email that "no lawyer has been retained."
A source close to Paterno said that in addition to the investigations by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, the former coach is concerned about the likelihood of civil lawsuits by Sandusky's alleged victims and their families.

Paterno should have got better glasses a long time ago if he didn't see anything wrong with what went on.

Houston sure can pile on the points. They went scoreless in the 1st quarter against Tulane then score 59 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter.

The guy who broke it is a pretty well respected guy so I have a harder time believing he wouldn't get the ramifications of thinking of something like that and two the blow back on his career if he got it wrong.

If you didn't tell me it was the Onion who put out that story I actually would have believed it was real. The media really is ghoulish and insensitive enough to ask questions like that.

Source - http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...strative-leave

Quote:
Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary, a key witness in the child sex abuse scandal that has engulfed the school, has been placed on administrative leave.

School president Rod Erickson announced the move Friday, a day after the school said McQueary would not be present when the Nittany Lions play Nebraska on Saturday because he had received threats.

McQueary testified in a grand jury investigation that eventually led to child sex-abuse charges being filed against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. The ensuing scandal brought down longtime coach Joe Paterno, who was fired by university trustees amid growing criticism that he should have done more to stop the alleged abuse.
So why did Penn State wait until now to do this? That is unforgivable in my eyes.

Seriously? The guy is entitled to a defense but I can think of better uses for that money. Maybe donating it to a fund for victims would have been better. This player admits he doesn't read or listen to news reports about it. If he read the indictment he wouldn't have donated that money. I'd light a 100 dollar bill on fire before giving it to Sandusky.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/...-rally-program

Quote:
Sam Stellatella, a three-position player in the 1950s, has donated money to Sandusky's defense and urged other former players to do the same.

"I told him he's going to need a million dollars to defend himself," the 73-year-old Stellatella said. "He called me back and said, 'What am I going to do with this money?' I said, 'Use it for your lawyer because you're going to need it.' "

Stellatella sent Sandusky $100. He wrote personal letters to other members of the 1959 Liberty Bowl team that defeated a Bear Bryant-coached Alabama team and asked they also donate. He does not know how much money was raised.

"I know some of the guys sent money," Stellatella told The Associated Press. "Here's the thing, these are horrendous charges against him. But he's still entitled to his day in court. Everybody's prejudged him. He's done horrendous damage to Paterno and (athletic director Tim) Curley and the football program. I don't listen to the news and I don't read the reports of what he did because I would get too upset.

"But he's still entitled to his day in court."

Miami is seemingly going to be on a self imposed bowl ban this season. I really hope it pays off when the NCAA comes calling.

I just watched the most recent 30 for 30 documentary "Roll Tide/War Eagle." This is easily one of the finest documentaries ESPN has done. It chronicles the Auburn-Alabama history, focusing on 2009-2011. Hard to believe so much happened with those programs in just two years. Both won a national championship, Toomer's trees were poisoned and then earlier this year a deadly monster tornado hit the Alabama campus one day apart from the 2011 draft where Cam Newton was drafted #1.

They even interviewed Alabama fan Harvey Updyke, who poisoned the Auburn trees. The guy came off even crazier than you'd expect a tree assassin to be. His kids are named Bear Bryant and Crimson. He tried to name his youngest kid Ali Bama but his wife said no to that one.

Sounds like McQueary isn't taking his new found fame very well. In protective custody and getting wasted. Too bad the victims he did nothing to help didn't get protective custody.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports...ing-it/related

Quote:
McQueary tells players he’s ‘in protective custody’

If you’ve been wondering what Mike McQueary has been up to since getting caught up in the criticism stemming from the scandal at Penn State, wonder no longer.

According to the Patriot-News, McQueary took part in a type of conference call Friday that included his replacement as wide receivers coach, Kermit Buggs, as well as the players he had been charged with coaching. During what was described by the paper as an emotional conversation, McQueary revealed to the group that he is “not your coach anymore. I’m done.”

That would seem to indicate that McQueary will not coach another game this season, something the school has yet to officially announce due in part to concerns over violating Pennsylvania’s whistleblower statute.

McQueary also revealed he’s in protective custody, and that he’s taking the liquid approach to the situation.

When players asked, “Coach, where are you? Can we see you?” McQueary responded, “No, I’m actually in protective custody. I’m not in State College.”

McQueary added that he was, “Double-fisting it,” meaning he was having two drinks at once.

Penn State announced Thursday that McQueary would not be in attendance at Saturday’s game against Nebraska due to “multiple threats” made against the assistant. A day later, it was announced that McQueary had been placed on paid administrative leave.
