Well, it started because the original poster said that the first time he's done it is with this release, so actually, it kind of does have something to do with a release. Asking mods to get rid of everything that is a little off topic is silly, in my opinion. I can understand if the conversation gets extremely out of hand and uncivil, but really, the debate only takes up about one page in this thread. All you have to do is either avoid the thread or scroll past those posts. I do it all the time when about a hundred people post that their copy shipped or didn't ship.

"Inception 2"? Huh?
The only thing Inception and TDKR have in common is a few actors...

I didn't care for it much in theaters, so I tried the same thing. I liked it even less on a 2nd viewing... all the bad writing/plot holes/disjointed narrative moments really stuck out even more. The problem is that the movie never flows, it's just a series of scenes that really don't fit together. Oh well.

I enjoy the move more each time. First theater viewing (normal theater), I had a bunch of suspension of disbelief issues cropping up. Enjoyed it a bunch more on IMAX in second viewing. Third viewing on BD last night was even better.

Maybe some people saw little to no plot holes. Maybe some people weren't paying attention because they didnt think they needed to, because when they went to the theater they went in looking for plot holes.

Strongly disagree. BB is super soft + bit starved encoded at 13 Mbps using VC-1.

BB 3.25/5
TDK 4/5 - due to EE.
TDKR 4.25/5

Do you really grade in a .25 scale? And what is EE?

Indecisive people use a .25 scale.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first two films, but don't think it was terrible, either. One thing I did like on my second viewing, though, was I could use captions (so I could actually understand everything that Bane says). I think what bothers me about this movie is:

1. Most of our main characters (Bruce, Alfred & Gordon) aren't in the movie as much as they should be.
[Show spoiler] Bruce is in a prison for about a third of the film, Gordon in the hospital and Alfred leaves pretty early in the film only to show up again at the very end.

2. Whenever a character is telling someone else a story (like Alfred explaining to Bruce how he never wanted him to come back to Gotham), they seem like they're in a rush, trying to say everything too fast.

3. One "plot hole" that bothers me is near the end.
[Show spoiler] We know that Bruce wasn't in the Bat when it blew up, but even when it was flying way out over the water, they show him inside it. Maybe it just had an ejector seat.

4. Last one.
[Show spoiler]When Talia/Miranda dies, I felt like that was the worst performance of someone dying that I've ever seen.

I know, I sound like I'm just complaining, but I still kind of liked the movie. I just don't feel like the good outweighs the bad, or vice versa.

With some directors constantly reusing actors it really makes you wonder what went wrong with the actors who never get to come back in future films. It seems odd that Nolan never had another role for Guy Pearce in the last 12 years when I thought he was impressed with him in Memento. I'm sure there is a story out there somewhere that I'm not aware of explaining it. I mean I would have guessed Guy also has the ability to lower his voice and growl like Batman.

Sums up my feelings. I'll use the captions too.

Regarding about the Bat.

[Show spoiler]Theres a part after Talia dies when Catwoman asks Batman about how he's going to fly the Bat, he replies quickly by saying "autopilot". It was so fast most people might have missed that part. So I'm guessing when he flew by the buildings and it exploded with a dust of smoke, he ejected in some of break away capsule like how the Batbike came out of the Tumbler. It's probably like the original Batman where the Penguin was controlling the Batmobile in a mini Batmobile. Anyway I think Batman was in the the miniBat plane or whatever controlling the Bat as it exploded.

Regarding #3, it's not exactly clear when he's no longer inside. It sure seems like he's in there right before the end based on the sunlight reflecting off of his face.

As for #4, that was bad, but nothing will ever top Trinity in The Matrix Convolutions for me. I swear that scene went on for 5 minutes and got so tedious that I was screaming along with others in theater for her to just kick the bucket already.

EE is edge enhancement.
My own video quality ratings:
BB: don't remember/care
TDK: 2/5 for 35mm scenes, 4.5/5 for IMAX scenes
TDKR: 4/5 for 35mm scenes, 5/5 for IMAX scenes
I think TDKR looks fairly nice overall. 35mm scenes are lackluster but better than the TDK mess.
