I think most of the tomb vamps died in the fire during the founders day party or left town and are long gone and most likely not coming back and the one's that did died. So that part of the plan is over I think and now John is dead. I think she will disappear for awhile but come back sometime during season 2.

This sounds like it could be good.

Next season, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls throws a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger. New and unexpected friendships will be forged, allies will become enemies, and hearts will be broken. Stefan and Damon will be forced to face a villain more evil and diabolical than they ever believed possible.

Josh Jackson Is Down for Vampire Diaries-Fringe Crossover

If Pacey Witter pops up in Mystic Falls, we'll probably implode right then and there. Seriously, that's just too much CW hotness—of both the classic and newbie variety—in one tiny town. That'd be amazing, right?! And get this, Joshua Jackson is totally onboard for a Vampire Diaries visit...

That is, of course, as long as his newest Fringe fella Peter can tag along.

For the record, we'll accommodate any and all of Josh's requests to make this happen. So Pacey, Peter, we don't care! Just get yourself back to Capeside.

When Kristin pitched the whole Vampire Diaries idea to Josh this week, an idea that came directly from Ms. Show Runner Extraordinaire herself Julie Plec, Josh was totally game. "She actually mentioned it to me and I would love to! That's going back to my roots, with both Julie and Kevin Williamson—who I know a little bit, too," he joked of his longtime boss.

Explained Josh: "I would happily do it, it's just a time issue." And then a brilliant idea popped in his head...with a little help from Kristin, of course. "Maybe in the alternate universe, Peter's a vampire in Atlanta." Problem solved! So Julie, J.J. Abrams, start working on this, please!

This would be awesome, though highly unlikely. But like mentioned it's not like he's never worked for Julie or Kevin before, so who knows down the road it could very well happen.

Interesting turn of events.

In season 2, the Stefan/Elena/Damon will evolve into a

[Show spoiler]Stefan/Katherine/Elena/Damon quadrangle and surprisingly it will be Stefan, NOT Damon, who will be the most affected by Katherine's return: it will turn out he's not as over her as he thought he was. Elena will come to terms with the fact that she may have developed feelings that are more than friendly towards Damon. Damon, on the other hand, will be busy devising a plan with the Council of the Founding Fathers to take down Katherine.

And yes, werewolves will be introduced next season and one of them (probably Tyler?) will connect with a certain witch (Bonnie?) while trying to deal with how to cope with their supernatural abilities.

Next season sounds interesting. The Vampire Diaries was consistently one of the best written dramas on television last year. If the show had a bigger budget and was on a major network, it would be a big hit.

I think the show has done quite well with it's budget but yeah it might have been a big hit, though no other network would have given it half the chance it got with CW. And since CW ratings are typically tiny compared to the big 4, VD will atleast get many more seasons without much worry since it's the networks biggest hit.

I think with a bigger budget on a less PC-friendly site, it probably would've been more like True Blood and I'm not sure that's what I want in a vampire show.

Oh you mean where the vampires are actually vampires? Yeah I hate that too. True Blood doesn't cheat it's way through the entire vampire mythos with stupid rings and necklaces. I watch both these shows but Blood just slaughters the ever living crap outta Diaries in every way. The characters are so much stronger and better written on TB, I really only like 2 characters on VD who don't make me want to roll my eyes everytime they show up, Damon and Bonnie. Everybody else can go.

I meant more it sounds to me like True Blood focuses too much on its characters having sex and over-the-top violence and not on character development or storylines.

Than I take it you haven't actually seen the show? Yes, there is sex and violence, but the characters are just written so much better. There is plenty of character development and growth. The vampires are as they should be brutal, they can be very easy going to, but even Vampire Bill who can brood too much at times doesn't hesitate for a second to bring out his violent side. You know violence, the thing that separates real vampires, from Twilight.....I haven't seen over the top violence on True Blood. Yes there have been really violent scenes, but nothing was over the top. Diaries just gets a lot of broken necks and very very minimal violence, thats why I keep saying it's a vampire show in name only.

YEAH YOU DO THAT! Lol, sorry......

I do enjoy both shows, I just find that I love all of the characters on True Blood whereas I just don't really like anybody on Diaries very much outside of Damon and Bonnie. The whole culture they created for Bon Temps, and the idea that vampires are out in the public eye and everybody knows they exist now is pretty cool. I also love the idea that the vampires answer to sheriffs and queens over their areas and states. There is a vampire hierarchy that has never been done before in movies or tv. It is a very intriguing and fantasticly written fun show. Not to mention it has probably the coolest intro and music of a show opener I've ever seen, you gotta check it out.

I don't remember any over the top violence in True Blood unless you count vampire staking then that can be bloody. I think I like True Blood better for the characters and I love the settings with the swamps and it's not a huge town kinda small town which I like better for shows.

Yeah really there was only one violent staking and that was when Amy killed Eddie in the first season. There hasn't been any over the top, everything fits quite well within the confines and structure of the story. Bon Temps is a beautifully created Louisiana swamp town, and has a very colorful and lively mystique to it.

WOW guys we really dodged a bullet here, wife was watching E! and they said the CW's pick for Elena was Ashley Simpson! Yes, you read that right. It wasn't until Nina Dobrev sent in her tape to them did they switch their pick to her.

Also, they revealed they originally had the actors for Damon and Stefan switched for the roles and then they switched them to what we have now.
