I was unable to do that also. I think it requires a call to DMC support, who are very quick to help resolve issues.

But in reality, I think it may be that we signed up blu rays at the start.

I would say yes ^^. The upgrade to blu-ray is for those who enrol under the DVD commitment originally.

I phoned about this a couple weeks ago. They said my preferred format was already blu-ray (since my enrollment order consisted of only blu-ray titles) and that is why I kept getting the "cannot verify identity" message. I asked why the promo showed up on the website and they told me it was an error dealing with their website.

Yes. All the Disney 3Ds are available to order once you're in the club, typically $44.95. Right now, John Carter 3D, Ghosts of the Abyss 3D, G-Force 3D, TRON: Legacy 3D, Bolt 3D, Mars Needs Moms 3D and Chicken Little 3D are on for $36.95.

Sorry not to get in the way of what you guys are talking about but before selecting what to enroll / order next in DMC, keep in mind that with enough Disney Movie Reward points collected from DVDs/Blu-Rays, you're eligible to redeem them for Blu-Rays.

There's already a good selection, including recently added ones (click).

Because of this I got [and finally seen] Enchanted . I'm eyeing on TRON LEGACY 3D next. But man I have so much I actually had to make a list to see which movies I've used or yet to use lol. Also still not using anymore until I see a promotion where you can use them as movie tickets redemption. Hopefully they add CD soundtracks in the future. Would've immediately redeemed for the Enchanted soundtrack!

The full availability of movies in the DMC is loads more than what they offer you as "free" enrolment titles.

First, as noted above, there are all the 3D titles, which are not offered at all as enrolment selections.

Then you have all the Pixar movies, some of which are offered as enrolment, but not all. And on and on. Plus, there are special edition box sets and things of that nature, not available as box sets.

As for Lion King, I don't think they are offering it as an enrolment selection any longer as it is due to be VAULTED in April - so they want you to join to be able to get it. I think the sequels are still available as enrolment selections (they are being vaulted too). Lady and the Tramp and LaTT II are also due to be vaulted.

All of the Disney 3D titles were on sale on Amazon.cn for the equivalent of $15.60 Cdn shortly after Christmas.

I ordered about four of them and with shipping it averaged out to be $16-17 Cdn each.

Amazon.com won't allow me to buy anything to Canada.

Edit: Oh it does allow me but damn it's expensive for shipping.

I just checked and the sale is still going on at http://www.gouduo.com.

http://www.gouduo.com/

Disney BDs are 55 yuan each ($7.50 Cdn) and Disney 3D BDs are about 100 yuan each (about $15 Cdn).

Shipping for six BDs is about $40 Cdn.

and if you aren't using Google Chrome, now is the time to do so.

Ugh. Counterfeit movies, no question. It may be a hreat deal, but it's no different than pirating or stealing. Actually, it's worse because you are actually paying money to thieves.

It's sad that China simply can't be trusted when it comes to buying products that are easily counterfeited. Hell, it's clear even Amazon China is easily invaded by counterfeited things.

If you buy these, sure you will save a bundle, but are you okay stealing?

Big assumption on your part really. What makes you think they are counterfeits besides the price?

I have been purchasing from Asia for years and I do not purchase counterfeits. Yes, they do exist, but as far as I can tell, these are legitimate. These titles were not always at this price.

DVDs and Blu-rays are priced very differently in Asia, partly to combat the rampant counterfeiting there.

If you know something particular to the Disney blu-rays sold at this retailer, then by all means share it. Otherwise don't spread rumours or accusations based on your conjecture.

I was just reading about disney movie club on a site called " Pissed Consumer" and it honestly just sounds like a lot of people b*tching about disney but who obviously didn't read the membership details, stuff like " disney is forcing me to buy titles at full price and won't let me cancel, all i wanted were the movies for a dollar!" but there were a few legit complaints like people being sent movies they didn't order even though they declined the months selection, so i was just wondering if anyone here has had any real problems. I like to investigate before i join "clubs" so any info is helpful, thanks in advance guys for any info good or bad.

People don't use Chrome?

Edit: Thanks, but the few I was looking for (Beauty and the Beast) .. the cheaper of them are "Temporary Shortage".. and afaik, that's not coming back anytime soon =P.. Almost tempted to still order Bolt and Nightmare before Christmas, but....

There's no proof that these movies ARE legit.

Just look at any of the listings. None of them show any signs of legit Disney markings. You are, sorry, deluding yourself in even thinking there's a remote chance 10% of anything you buy from China is legit. Especially on a site like gouduo. The prices are cheap because they are fake.

Look at this one:

http://www.gouduo.com/ware_23846.html

Find me one Wall-E that comes adorned with a BD50 logo and I'll throw my entire movie collection in the trash.

All it takes is one to put the entire stock list in question. Unless I see somewhere from Disney that the site is an official retailer, it's a counterfeiting wasteland.

Anyone buying any media from anywhere in Asia is risking a 90% chance it is counterfeit. The laws there are so lax it's disgusting. I've also worked with ebay for years, and had good friends who worked in the launching of ebay China and trying to keep it remotely legit, it was impossible.

So unless ther is some concrete proof that anything from any of these sites is direct from Disney, you are simply rolling a 6 sided die and hoping for a 7. Anyone who orders from that site is ordering almost guaranteed counterfeit crap.
