The movie's already out in the Philippines. One person reviewed it on a blog of theirs but didn't really give much insight on it for the sake of making it non-spoiling. They just said they liked it and that Chloe and Julianne gave great performances.

They also noted that they haven't seen the original or read the book except for reading about it on Wikipedia. Apparently they won't give out a review with spoilers.

General rule of thumb...if there's not one review on Rotten Tomatoes at least a week before a movie opens, it's a good indication that the movie will be crap.

Looks like its only 99 mins. Chloe has my respect and I am sure she will do great in the role but I am gonna have to wait to rent this one.

Moore and Moretz are two of my favorite actresses plus I need to see a horror film in theaters since PA series is gone this year.

It could very well apply here, but I've also enjoyed plenty of movies that would fall into that.

Thanks to the movie money from Best Buy, I'll be seeing this in the theater at some point as well.

I'm not expecting it to be as good as the original (which I just watched for the first time yesterday), but they have the cast and the director to have it end up being at least enjoyable.

I don't know where there isn't any reviews on RT yet. I've seen an ad on mtv.com that quoted some reviews.

either its not be screened or there is an embargo which is common for Screen Gems.

Just rewatched that TV spot. It looks like Karen Durbin from ELLE magazine is the only one being quoted in it.

Can't find her review online though.

At least it's not like THE HOST earlier this year where they put fan tweets in the tv spots saying how good it was.

The Hymn TV spot has more than just her being quoted. I looked all of them up and couldn't find any reviews for the people being quoted.

If there had been another PA this October I'd have been there. But yeah, I want to see a horror film theatrically this month and this is the only one opening. I'm excited for it though. I think I'll enjoy it more than the original, which I didn't like. I did really enjoy The Rage: Carrie 2 though

Reviews so far are not bad. A couple of really strong ones on Rotten Tomatoes. And Dustin Putman, the critic I agree with most (especially on horror), really dug it.
