Jean-Claude Van Damme on Blu-ray

Watched Double Team. It looks okay. It's very soft in distant shots and a lot of medium shots, but close-ups look very nice. It looks bad here and there, but overall I would say thoroughly okay? I checked the bitrate a half-dozen times or so and it was always around 20, so it's likely more an incredibly outdated master than suffering from 4.5 hours on a disc.

"Double Team" and "Hard Corps" both have no subs and 1 option for audio: English Dolby Digital 2.0 at 48 kHz (448 kbps).

So the Mill Creek release of Van Damme collection only Double Team and Hard Corps doesn't have subtitles but the other three do?

Knock Off was just on Sony Movie Channel. Good lord did it look awful. Like a poorly upscaled DVD even the end credits were all blurry.

On the plus side it reminded me to look for the crappy but catchy end credit song "It's A Knock Off" I tried looking for it years ago but could never find it because the end credits list it to Ron and Russell Mael. I looked on IMDB and found a post about the song from 2006 and found out that they had a band called Sparks and the song was on their 2000 album called "Balls" I found it right away by searching for Sparks.

It appears that BD is from Sweden or Norway and it may be OOP. I found 2 sites that list it (excluding Amazon UK), but none of them have it in stock.

The disc was published by a company called Scanbox Entertainment, you may want to try and contact them. They might be able to hook you up with one (I couldn't even find a listing for that disc on their site, but their website runs like garbage, so it may be there and I just can't find it).

Just got a copy of the above double feature for £7 which included shipping, good deal. On another note I hope Mill Creek have plans to release Double Team and The Hard Corps in either separate releases or as a double feature together.

As I understand it, the BD of Inferno (aka Desert Heat) is pretty bad. I really hope there's another release sometime.

Anyone got more info on that in hell disc/version? Only found a scandinavian disc, DTS-HD MA 5.1 but no eng subs on that.

It looks decent in motion, a DVD master was used so it could be a lot better.

What do you want to know? Full HD picture quality. DTS HD MA 5.1 English only and only Nordic subtitles.

It's really bizarre. Back in the day, Van Damme's films on DVD used to look amazingly good. They often outperformed other big budget releases in terms of PQ.

But now for Blu-ray his films seem to be bottom of the barrel in terms of quality...

No they were no help at all, they indeed lost the rights so the release is OOP. I got it from a Finnish auction site for £7.00 delivered was very lucky to find it.

Picture quality is great, full 1080p. The english track is lossy though. No special features.
