They were rough at the start but this year they've been good to go. I ordered the US releases and am not worried about it.

So the UK releases and the US releases are probably same quality overall. Are there any obvious differences in extras or anything? The US cover art smashes the UK.

Any US based member happy to pick up and send the three at $14.99 each plus post to UK? PM please, want to avoid $21 worth of tax and shipping if possible.

2 and 3 finally dropped to $14.99 at BB.

Wonder why 1 hasn’t yet.

Day 1 for the set here, too!
Man card revoked.

I love the first one obviously... With the accept of Trautman. Such an annoying pompous and pretentious character. No complains outside of that. 9/10

Part II is just dumb fun. It along with Death Wish 3 and Commando set the stage for the one man vs. many silly action movies. Trautman is more tolerable here. 7/10

I never cared for three, but I'll buy since its cheap. I don't think I've watched it all the way through since the 90's though. It just isn't as good as 2, and its not as good as the first or 4th as a more straight forward movie. 5/10

Rambo IV - Pretty damn good. I own both versions on blu, but I haven't watched the extended version yet. The theater cut gets 8/10

They screw that up constantly. Pretty good odds that if you call them you will get another rep who won't even check. I do it all the time.

Totally agree. His character and performance rub me up the wrong way. He does a better job playing the part in Hot Shots! Part Deux.

Why did the 4th Rambo movie get shut out from a 4K UHD release? I'd want that one as well.

Studio Canal did the new 4K remasters for 1-3, which they are releasing in other countries, as they have the rights to those overseas (Sony owns the distribution rights for 4 overseas). Lionsgate owns 1-4 in the U.S., and it is assumed that they are utilizing Studio Canal's restorations, for their domestic releases of 1-3. It appears that Lionsgate has yet to prep 4 themselves. Unless Sony jumps of 4 soon, perhaps Lionsgate will wait to prepare 4 in-house, until 5 comes to theaters next year.

Ah HELL no

Richard Crenna is the best thing about those films, acting wise.

Bullmoose is down to $15.97 on all three. It's a little more than Amazon and BB but I'd much rather go with the moose.

Have you ever listened to Stallone's commentary? The original choice for Trautman was Kirk Douglas, but he left the production because he disagreed with the ending. They brought on Crenna as a last minute replacement, but it turned out that his last job was a stage play where he played a gay doctor and he had the same type of character inflections when he arrived on the First Blood set. He managed to dial it down, but I have heard people say over the years that they found Trautman a bit camp. I know a lot of Trautman's pomposity comes from character, but maybe it was... Something else, too...

I hope this post doesn't get taken down.

Went through the painful process of ordering these through Wow at £14.37 each (thanks for that tip off) on three separate orders to avoid tax. Well worth it though saving £15 and getting better artwork.

He does fine in the sequels. However, in the original. I want Teasle to punch him.

Maybe they meant to cast this guy?

Actually after you factor in BM not charging taxes in some states it’s chraper than Amz. Thanks for the heads up!

I can't wait until either studio does "Pulp Fiction". "Jungle Boogie" in Atmos?

There's a 4k Trilogy on Amazon france. Looks like a steelbook. Would these discs play in English with no subtitles? It's on Amazon Germany also.

StudioCanal doesn't do forced subs if that is what you're asking.

Not forced subs but you could run into issues with any player-generated subs not being catered for (like on my German remastered Blu of Rambo III) if it's not intended for the English market. Thankfully though StudioCanal have the rights to these in several countries, including the UK, so their UHD discs will undoubtedly have an English-friendly option.
