Are the UOT people not authorising new registrations at the moment, or....?

Perhaps not in the US but they were released in other countries on 3D Blu-Ray.

Hmmmm.... the look of that Amazon UK version is interesting. It looks like it might be more "normal" of packaging instead of the book-style thing.

I likely won't bother importing it since I do hate the UK ratings logos with a passion. But it would be nice if some retailer were to get a similar version in the US, hopefully with all of the same discs, and just come in more standard packaging.

Do you think they'll release the films individually? I don't think this set is worth it for just 5/9 films.

My thoughts exactly

Anyway, I'm not just passing on the set just because of the UOT. Like I said, the 4K upscale transfers for the prequels (at least I and II) are pretty mediocre-- I really wish they had done a new transfer of Phantom Menace from the 2K digital files without all the extra DNR processing, and an HDR grade of AotC with closer to it's original color-timing would have been appreciated.

I'm just going to wait for the mythical boxset that has perfect remasters of all the films in all their multiple versions.
As Lucas hadn't actually made the ST yet they didn't have to listen to him there.

But the thing that always comes to mind whenever people dredge this up is that time some goober from a website or YT channel aksed Kathy Kennedy a question about the originals - albeit aksed in a stupendously cack-handed roundabout way which took three tries to even get her to understand what he was talking about - and she starts laughing and says "Are you KIDDING? I would never touch those! They're George's".

Star Wars = The Original Trilogy for me

Disney is not giving us the Original Trilogy, so this boxset makes no sense

It makes no sense to release the saga in 4K with newly curated bonus discs for the first 6 movies included?

No because Star Wars = OT for that guy so it doesn't make sense to release what is officially considered the saga to everyone else

I pre-ordered this, but would rather have individual Steelbooks. I'm just thinking this seems like a lot of bonus discs and they might not be included in sets later down the line.

I'm still unclear whether or not this set is limited? It's not something I need day one, but I don't want to miss the boat either.

I'm going to assume that Empire of Dreams will be included in it's new Frankenstein Disney+ incarnation - all the interview clips are upconverted and all film clips are replaced by SE HD versions.

TBH I don't want steelbooks, I just want standard slipcovers. I hope they reissue TLJ cause I want it to look the same as the others.

Anyone hoping that the theatrical cuts of the OT will be included shouldn't hold their breath.

You'll end up dying.

Ok found them again, it's weird they exist online but you can't actually get them to turn up in search results either.

I have some early Christmas money. Not sure if I should use that to get BB gift cards to get this set or not. It would just about cover it. I think I like their set but I'm wondering if another store will have a better boxset. I think the likelihood is not, but I like Target's exclusives once in a while.

I went ahead and preordered this with my Best Buy card. Said I can do 6 monthly payments on it so why not. I looked at it like I'm buying a couple of Star Wars movies a month. lol

I'd rather have steelbooks... and obviously the original theatrical cuts, but I'll take this for now. Sucks that theatrical and directors cuts can coexist with other movies, but it can't with one of, if not the biggest franchise ever. It's actually the only reason why I never bought the original trilogy on blu-ray. This set looks really nice though, and plus those extra bonus discs will make it worth it. Talking about this makes me wonder if my grandfather still has the original VHS tapes I grew up on. Gonna ask him now when I see him for Christmas. lol

As of today this box is a Best Buy exclusive in the US, right?

I'd much rather a slimmer set, but I am interested in owning this if all of the extra material we've seen over the years is all included. I've been kicking myself since 2011 for selling my prequel DVDs, for example.

Even if the realease the UOT someday, they'll be room in this set for them. For RO and Solo too. Heck if I shift discs around I could fit the next 9 trilogies in here.
