I’ve personally never been able to understand the feeling that most people have that the music in V is more dated than IV. Both are cheesetastic soundtracks of their time and work perfectly for what they are IMHO.

Exactly! I was a junior in high school when Rocky V was released and the music in that movie fits perfectly for 1990. Even Rocky's son and his friends clothes and hair styles nailed it for that era.

I can say the MGM remaster of the original “Rocky” looks amazing on blu-ray (like the remaster of The Terminator). I’m sure it’s just waiting for the 4K release.

So, this is coming, but no date set for the release? I went through the last 6-7 pages, but couldn't find any US pre-order link yet.
Kinda like The Abyss, which is coming, but no date set and yet that one is moved to Wishlist?

The Abyss and Rocky both had their creators say they are being worked on. In that respect, they are equals.

That said, we've had pre-orders up on Amazon for this one as well as other places. This has far more legitimacy than anything associated with Cameron.

I don't know about arguing "datedness" but in terms of what people like, IV has, unquestionably, an enduring quality for far more people, as evidenced by the amount of hit songs it generated, and the fact it's still in print, even today.

I mean it's pretty easy to figure out: IV has been reissued a bunch of times, remastered, etc., is still in circulation. The album for V ended up in cut-out bargain bins all over the country and stayed there for literally years. Some small label reissued one time and that was it.

V never generated the popularity of the previous ROCKY soundtracks, whether it was because of the film's mediocre box-office -- or the fact the album and song roster is pretty "meh", at least IMO.

Keeping it on topic and Rocky - Eye of the Tiger is one of the all-time great sports anthems.

It's also unmistakably '80s in sound.
