Wonder if that's final art? It's the same as previous Connery collections from MGM in the past.

Had to fix link. It's exactly what I thought it would be. Basically the same format as the Craig 4K set.

I don't know.....is that really the artwork? Seems strange that the "Bond/007" stamping is relegated with such little impact. Hell, the spine has nothing mentioning "Bond/007"??

Hopefully the same as the Superman steelbooks.

Ah! I spoke too soon before. It is the same as a previous BD set. Still......Did they just put that up as a place holder? Is this really official?

I reckon it's a placeholder. Why use the different font used in the current placeholders for other sites just to ignore it for the actual box.

I suspect the green font we have seen will be used so I think this is a mock up.

Based on that picture configuration it looks like a slipcase with individual cases!

Damn, so much for hoping each film would get its own case with dedicated artwork. Oh, well, still better than a cardboard digipak. I'll take it.

FYI ... that French release is showing a release date of 12/17/25 and 12/16/25 / Amazon.fr

If that picture is correct, it's not big enough unfortunately. Done guessing though as it's getting pretty old. Waiting for definitive info.

There was a four track stereo mix (non Dolby) seemingly made for premiere engagements. This has never been seen in any promotional material but I would assume the London premiere version had this. This mix quietly turned up on the first letterbox LD which was a new transfer. The 2.0 audio is matrixed but decodes out very well for a solid experience especially for a 1977 film. It has some inherent damage but otherwise is IMO the best sounding home release.
All versions since have been 5.1 upmixes of this mix with varying degrees of processing and other tweaks. Some versions replace the film version title song with the soundtrack rerecording. (You can always tell by the different piano intro)

The mono mix is sadly lost to time and early pan and scan releases which all suffer from very laughably bad time compression resulting in a bit of super pal speedup helium voice effect. (The opening alone is funny with a helium voiced “Oh my god”.) I’m trying to see if I can make a cleaner capture of this iteration as I’m sure the mono will never see the light of day again.
I don’t suppose that any of the producers tapped into your knowledge to get this 4K set done correctly, did they?

I presume the Blu-ray's 2.0 stereo is the same 4-track mix as the LD?

10? Try 20 years, the Lowry restorations were done for the Ultimate Edition DVDs in 2006-ish. They may not even be legit 4K resolution, could be they were scanned at 4K but had the processing done at 2K and were uprezzed back to 4K.

But the ratios being listed as 1.75 for the first three is interesting. Some folks will wail and moan that they're not 1.66 but even the Criterion LDs were 1.75 IIRC, that's more than likely what they were exhibited as so I don't got a problem with it.

1.75:1 should be period correct for a UK flat production/release/exhibition from the 1960s.

Most likely US cinemas would have stuck with what they always did and shown them 1.85:1, with Europe 1.66. Don't know if the continental cinemas were more flexible. At least those were the nominal commercial theatrical ratios in use when released.

The aspect ratio change has me feeling hopefully these may actually be new masters. For gods sake don’t give us masters that came out before I hit puberty

With the initial success and with US distribution the productions were marked for US/International release so they were framed for the biggest market's ratio to prevent the action packed excitement looking err.. cramped.

Shame there’s no digital code with the release.
