I honestly don't even know who Mike is, I'm just pointing out that the more you think you're saying "I'm the normal one who is behaving rationally right now" the less true it is based on the actual content of your posts. You're in a room full of people who are casually chatting but you're acting like you're in A Few Good Men.

What about the original CD pressings of the soundtrack were they ever altered or did they always contain the edited version.

I wonder if there are any fan edits clips of the sequence that show the differences with the score alterations.

The soundtrack releases themselves are uncensored, always have been.

What does "approve" mean exactly?

James Cameron approved the waxy True Lies and Titanic.

Peter Jackson also approved his LOTR AI.

Fincher spent two years working on Se7en regrade and SFX and approved his work.

Lucas also approved his Special Editions.

Never in doubt. In the US it was impossibile to project flat 35mm prints in anything else than 1.85:1 in 1999

People know about the 4/3 just because of VHS/DVD because Kubrick always wanted to "fill" 4/3 TVs

He died years before 16/9 television became the standard

Some of the Storaro movies were re-released for home video on Univisium, one of them was the Criterion "The last emperor" in 2014.

Thankfully the abomination was rectified in 2024 when Criterion released a 4K disc in 2.35:1
