Eh thats a tricky one! Yer gonna have all sorts of people tell you one or the other. Some will say Panny some will say Pio. I would really suggest you find the means of seeing both of them side by side and then deciding. |

Link to Sonny's comments on contrast ratio https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=2028298&postcount=482 The viewing angles are excellent on plasmas compared to a 60HZ DLP rear projector. The Pioneer is both a 60HZ and 72HZ plasma and when a 1080p/24 signals are received they are always displayed properly automatically at 72HZ regardless of menu settings. The only thing you will lose when going to a 60 inch Pioneer from a 65 inch DLP is 5 inches smaller screen. Panasonic also has the V10 in a 65 inch version but the picture quality on the 60 inch Pioneer Kuro is better quality (CNET review comparing the V10 series to a Pioneer shows the Pioneer is still better overall). If you had a retail store in your area you could see the small and sometimes large diffrences in quality between the V10 series and Pioneer Elite series. Don't even ask how many 60 inches and 50 inches I have now. I just purchased another PRO-141FD and several PRO-101FD's to replace a few high-end CRT TV's in the house and at another family members house. Soon every room with a TV might have a Kuro if I do not control myself.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=1977579&postcount=755 The Pioneer PRO-141FD and PRO-101FD are the top of the line Elite Signature series. You can sometimes find the $7,000 PRO-141FD for under $3,500 online or the $5,500 PRO-101FD online for under $2,500. These displays do not come with a stand, tuner, and no speakers can be added to the display. A dedicated surround system is required. This display is not for everyone. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=1796387&postcount=727 For the average consumer the slightly lower quality PRO-151FD and PRO-111FD is better since these displays come with a stand, tuners, and speakers. Here are all the review links (or spec sheet) for all the 2008 Pioneer models. No I wish I was, I usally keep most of my displays for at least 10 years or longer. Some people I know in my family keep their displays for 20 years or longer.

Some of these EBAY dealers drop ship from an authorized Pioneer distributor. Others you have to research to make sure you get the 2 year warranty. You can make a offer for around $2,500 and sometimes some dealers will accept the offer. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=pro-101fd&_sacat=See-All-Categories Also if you do not want to deal with EBAY, if you email LA Plasma and ask them for their best price on the PRO-141FD or PRO-101FD you will get a email back with a price a lot cheaper then $4,600 or $3,375. They drop ship directly from a Pioneer authorized distributor. There is less then 100 screens left according to one of my sources where these online dealers are drop shipping from. http://www.laplasma.com/product_info.php?products_id=612 Last edited by HDTV1080P; 06-20-2009 at 12:16 AM. |

You are correct so far no one is advertising a under $3,500 price for the PRO-141FD and under $2,500 price for the PRO-101FD. Maybe that will happen in the future. These are all amazing prices. Last edited by HDTV1080P; 06-20-2009 at 12:50 AM. |

http://www.nextag.com/151FD/search-html Make sure that if you are buying online that it is a authorized Pioneer dealer so that you get a full 2 year warranty. Pioneer Elite products are 2 year warranty and non Elite Pioneer is 1 year warranty. |
