They aren't in steel shells if that's what you mean. But between the magnet and steelbook is cloth (the kind of material used for cleaning screens or sunglass cases), so they aren't going to get scratched from the magnets. At the moment I don't have any of mine displayed, they are all in plastic bags sitting on a shelf, because of lack of Space.

Every steel I get gets opened and immediately slid into a poly bag and depending on the release will get put into a steelshell as well. Then they either get put on the magnetic wall, or the bookcase. Since i m about to receive my cap 2 lent I will then have almost all the Marvels I wanted and am redoing a section of my wall with shelving just for the Marvels.
