Been working a lot lately. Was supposed to be off tomorrow, but got asked to come in.

I finished off all 3 seasons of Game of Thrones, but by the last few episodes my pj lamp started getting significantly dimmer. I'd go with an Epson bulb. I'd hate to think I was getting the best out if my PJ. I got 1221 hours in just a tad over a year. Got it on Feb 22.

I just got some absolutely amazing news. My lamp warranty was just 90 days and my pj warranty was 2 years, and I've had my pj for just over 26 months, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to call them just to see what they said.

My pj came with a PrivateLine technical support card that looks like a credit card and has a PIN number on the back. I called them and told them that I've had my pj for 26 months and have just over 1900 hours on my lamp and that in the last few days it has gotten very dark. They asked me for the serial number and then asked if I clean the unit and the filter regularly (I do this at least once a month) and then asked if it has adequate air flow around the unit (it does). Then he asked me to send them a copy of my receipt. I hung up and called Visual Apex where I bought my pj and they emailed me a copy which I then forwarded to Epson, then I immediately called them back and gave them my reference number.

I was put on hold for about 5 minutes, then the guy apologized for the wait and informed me that although I am over two months out of my pj warranty and almost 25 months out of my lamp warranty, that because I am a valued Epson customer, they are shipping me a new lamp for free. No shipping fee, no lamp fee, just absolutely free!!! I couldn't believe it. I even said "I'm sorry, I'm not sure I heard you correctly" and he laughed and repeated it to me.

I just started a new job and am completely broke right now, so my pj going down was a real bummer at the worst possible time. I can't believe how good their customer service is. I'm getting a $300 lamp direct from the factory for nothing. I am so happy. I should have it in 2 to 7 business days.

It's funny, when I called them they asked me if this was my first time contacting them and I said, well I did call a while back for my friend Tommy from Denmark because he had the same pj, and on his recommendation I bought the one I have, but he needed some help and was afraid that his english might not be so good, so I called to help him out, but this was my first time calling for myself.

You never know, maybe me mentioning helping you with yours and your recommendation to me may have been what helped me to get the lamp for free.

I have gone from being deeply depressed at not really having the money for a real OEM lamp to absolutely ecstatic about getting one for free and seeing my pj blast out the light like new, or maybe even better than ever.

Awesome news Joe.

Sounds like my situation a cpl years ago with the bulb for my Samsung 50" DLP. Long story short, they too sent me a New bulb absolutely FREE as well (the TV dealer where I bought it, not Samsung directly). I had called after noticing my picture being somewhat darker on some shows/channels, & had a new bulb a few days later. Took all of 5 or so minutes to install after watching a YouTube video (so I wouldn't do anything wrong)

I had all of that stuff yesterday.

Today I took a nap then got caught up on SNL, Family Guy, and The Walking Dead. I did go outside for a little while though. It was really nice and warm here.
