I would really like to know if Fox even has the rights to cross the FF over with the X-men without Marvels permission , if they can that may be the only reason to reboot the FF . But that begs the question if they could why didn't they . I would also like to know if there is a clause that would let Marvel get the rights back if Fox were doing damage to the brand , one could sure argue that .

Well, the guy who did the ASM film had way less credentials than trank, and he got two films. Sadly.

We've gotten Director's Cuts/Extended Cuts of Green Lantern, Fantastic Four (2005), Daredevil and Elektra, so anything's possible.

Jeremy Smith, the dude that wrote the screenplay (before re-writes), used to be a complete jerk on the Chud message board back in the day. Very I'm in the biz dude, you're not. So shut up kind guy. Still, I was happy for him when he got the gig.

I would like to know how much of his script made it into the film, but he's been pretty silent. through the whole production.

Yeah, and the improvements were minimal at best. Topping everything off, they included both Reed and Sue's planetarium scene, plus the one at the riverside, in the film...and most of the lines are virtually identical. There's also a horrible CGI attempt with turning Reed's face into Wolverine.

On the positive side, we get a little more context into Reed and Sue's relationship, plus Johnny learning a lesson about maturity when he selfishly shoots fire toward a guy, in an attempt to impress a woman. That leads into his somewhat-depressed return to the Baxter Building, before Victor shoots the missile at him.

Webb had the same amount of movies under his belt as Trank, 1, and a lot of truly amazing music videos. So I don't know how he had way less credentials.

Marc Webb actually has much more solid credentials than Trank. He's directed more music videos, and a much more heralded film than Chronicle. (Although I admit I felt he was an odd fit for ASM.)

Trank is done in the business even if half the rumors of the production problems are true. He might get a second chance, but most likely he will become another Troy Duffy...

I'll likely be passing on this one at the theaters-- if it's not very good I'd just assume not support it and hope it bombs, tempting Fox to pull a Sony and make a deal with Marvel.

Fantastic Four sounds like a better fit for the the MCU than as a standalone anyway. You COULD make a good standalone film of FF4 with the premise that this one family is the only super-powered beings in the world, but this film ain't it. And I don't think Fox is going to do a third reboot.
