It may seem subtle, but I promise that it's not.

Of course it's an improvement over our past releases. I never said that it wasn't.
Maybe it's my color deficiency kicking in, but I don't see any difference between the two pictures you posted. Definately not enough to be going back and forth on what's preferable.

I need to get my eyes checked!

They're not done completely adjusting the color on that scan, these are just preview shots afterall. Quite a bit of work will be done actually. It definitely isn't going to have that slight green bias, interestingly I never noticed till you pointed it out.

Keep in mind those 35mm frames were just quick tests someone had popped out and not with calibration fully dialed in so it is possible that the 35mm actually looks more like your subtle change.

Anyway I'd hardly call them Matrix Green whites! And it's way less green whites than the blu-ray has pink whites, those are mega pink, look at the guy's white shirt in the first one, it's pink.

Gotcha.

And once again, I never once compared to the Blu-ray. The Blu-ray is hideous, but don't put words in my mouth as if I believe it has any superiority over that.

I just stated if they gave us the end-all print of a lifetime, I would hope that isn't the color grading they go with. They can neutralize and overall balance the whites and flesh tones much better than that.

There is no other inference to be made from my post other than that. Read it again, and if you can't understand that then please move along (not you specifically, but anybody who thinks I believe the gold standard is the pinkish BD tone).

"Matrix-green" was also simply what I would most liken it to, or get somebody to understand what kind of push I feel all of those shots have.

It's going to be graded based on how it looks against a high CRI D56 lightbox. It's probably going to be a tad warmer, not green, and probably not "neutral" because it wouldn't have been projected that way. Everyone has a different guidepost for whatever they call "neutral" though so it is what it is. Anyway that's all I know right now.

Good for you, because how you prefer your whites doesn't have shit to do with movies and cinematography.

The "Matrix-green" whites on that picture are nothing out of the ordinary for something on film. You're never going to see #FFFFFF whites on a projected film, especially Jurassic Park which has a yellow bias in most prints.

I'm in a group chat with a dude who gets extremely textwall-y and uppity about movie transfers that do not feature perfect blue skies and perfectly natural skin tones. This is universal across anything this person talks about. It's really really funny. It again reminds me of the fan regrade of Reservoir Dogs by some guys who insist it shouldn't have red skin tones, interviews with the cinematographer and Tarantino be damned lmao

Who cares about actual proof and creative intent? A lot of those guys create their own reality. I've seen threads where people were posting indisputable evidence against certain narratives, only for the people to continue posting as if those posts containing evidence never existed, and try to veer the conversation back into teal, revisionism and blanket tints.

That lovely green tint FOTR debate from years ago comes back to mind.

Default JUrassic Park III

I read in the blu-ray.com review that the video quality of Jurassic Park III blu ray 4K UHD has problems. Can you tell me if anyone responsible for Blu-Ray.com has contacts within Universal Pictures to tell them to correct and improve the video quality of Jurassic Park III?
