NBC's "The Blacklist" (Season 10)

For decades, ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as "The Concierge of Crime."

Now, he's mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen, an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. For Liz, it's going to be one hell of a first day on the job.

What follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins. What are Red's true intentions? Why has he chosen Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection? Does Liz have secrets of her own?

Zamani, we come to find out, is only the first of many on a list that Red has compiled over the years: a "blacklist" of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. He will help catch them all... with the caveat that Liz continues to work as his partner. Red will teach Liz to think like a criminal and "see the bigger picture"... whether she wants to or not.

From writer/executive producer Jon Bokenkamp ("Taking Lives") and executive producers John Eisendrath ("Alias," "My Own Worst Enemy") and John Davis ("Gulliver's Travels," "Predator") comes a global thriller that will become more mysterious with each name on the list. One-hour drama.

I'm in as well. While I will always say they showed too much in the trailer, I think it has serious potential.

This also looks to be another good role for James Spader. He's good at playing smart ass characters.

I wasn't planning on watching this when NBC announced they were picking it up as a series. But then I happened on an ad for it while watching something else on NBC (must've been Crossing Lines) and thought Spader came off as amazingly creepy, so I've added it to my fall watch schedule.

Just started this. Watched the first episode and a part of the second. Seems like it's kicking off to be a really good show. But was going to say, aside from the fact it feels like they are ripping off Silence Of The Lambs.

That aspect seems dumb, but hopefully it just seems that way and will be something more than what it seems.

Could really use a long great series right now.

I enjoyed it, and will be watching next week. I got a little Hannibal and Clarice vibe during some of the interactions between Reddington, and Megan.

I am losing interest in this show. The lead actress acts very lame and no emotion at all. The second episode is so boring.

The show was supposedly about Red chasing blacklisters with FBI + Liz...

[Show spoiler]S1 and even S2 was pretty good along those lines. In S3 Liz didn't do anything except for complaining a lot, whether or not she had a reason for it. Everyone had to dance circles around her, and as far as chasing bad guys or doing any actual profiling (which was her job description in the beginning) she didn't do anything interesting. I really couldn't care less about her on and off romance with Tom, their child and whatever other soap opera crap writers threw at us.

What's worse, because Red has to play daddy, he's not doing what's he's really good at - getting bad guys with elaborate combos and cool speeches. Instead he has to apologize again and again, beg her not to get married, etc, etc...

To be honest, I was already sick of all the drama surrounding her. I am sure they will bring her back to do more complaining, but if not, I won't miss that character, not after S3.

I pretty much agree with what you said. The name of the show is "Blacklist" - about Red handing clues to Liz and catching bad guys; and it was very good when it did that. It is not called "Liz & Tom Have a Kid and Settle down". It is much less entertaining now than it was.

I will agree with that as well, the anti-Red and Tom/Baby drama was getting really annoying.

[Show spoiler] I don't think she is dead. The doctor made it pretty clear in the episode with Tom in ER that he wasn't really loyal to Red and not happy. He liked Liz and decided to help her get away from Red. I'm sure Kaplan had to be a part of it as well.

It is possible they really killed her off because the actress wanted to spend the time with her new child. I however think it is most likely that this is a way to remove or limit her filming so she could have her child and have maternity leave.

This season sucks. I may be done with this show no matter what. Seasons 1-2 were great when Redd and Liz were working on the "BLacklist".. Now...ugh..

I can't say "sucks" because I like the actors and characters and up until now I've at least still enjoyed the show - but on the other hand, I was messing around with another device while the show was on and was only paying half attention when "the event" happened so I didn't even really get to "enjoy" it as a "wow" moment.

It's felt like they tried to pull an Alias-style reboot this season, when they still had at least a good season or two before the old format felt like it was lagging. It was just too soon. It's funny, because while everyone is rather good, including her, I have felt a few times this season that Megan Boone was a little lost among it all.

I am in the camp that thinks it's a ruse - but then again, I'd rather it be "real" than it be a long dragged out thing. It was a ballsy move, no doubt, though. It will be interesting if it works or not, in any case.
