I can't remember since it's been a while, but was the entire show in English? Were there any parts with audio in other languages, and if so, does it have English subtitles? The Blu-ray.com listing doesn't offer much info.

Also it's not a problem for me but is the release region free?

Just checked for you. English subs are burnt in for the parts they speak a different language. Region free.

If you guys haven't already, you should check out Van Damme's pilot on Amazon, Jean Claude Van Johnson. So much fun!! Looks and feels more like a movie than most of his dtvs. Really hope they pick it up for a full season.

It seems to be getting the best reviews out of the new Amazon pilots.

I just watched the pilot. It was glorious! It needs to be picked up.

A great mix of humor and drama.

Plus bonus points for being in 4k.

Kickboxer: Vengeance

3.5/5

I don't know if it's a bad editing choice but the structure of this movie really threw me off. The plot doesn't unfold in linear fashion. I don't know what to think of that. A second viewing will clear that up, though. Aside from that, this is a really good martial arts movie. Good fight choreography, cinematography and editing. Lots of fighting going on here, almost the entire movie. Much more than in the original movie. Also lots of cool training stuff. The only downside of that is the bad and forgettable score in those scenes. Didn't like the rap stuff either. Batista is pretty cool and menacing as Tong Po, but in a much different way than in the original movie. But the one who absolutely kills it is the man himself: Van Damme. He owns this movie. He is the perfect choice to play Master Durand. He has a lot of screentime, cool lines and many fight and training scenes. He gives it his all despite his age. He is in such a great physical shape. He hasn't looked this great in years. You can tell this was an important movie for him. It's worth seeing for him alone. Too bad some of his line got dubbed by a guy who doesn't sound nearly like him. I don't know what's the story behind that..... For now I'll rate it 3.5/5 stars. If the plot structre works for me when I give it a re-watch, I'll probably even rate it 4/5 stars. Definitely gonna add this one to my collection once it's available on blu-ray

Picked up Maximum Risk on clearance at Big Lots, down from $5 to $1.25. Awesome deal, had a good time revisiting this Van Damme flick.

in the 5 movie pack that includes Double Team, is Maximum Risk really 2.0 and not 5.1 (previous release)?
Can anyone confirm?

My copy of I Am Van Damme finally arrived. Looking forward to checking it out. I had only seen one episode of it prior as I didn't have Showtime when it first started airing.

Sounds like something Mill Creek would do. The standalone disc for that film is still cheap and widely available though.

it is. cheap and crappy move from Mill Creek. the only reason I'd get that set is for the two unreleased films like Double Team
