I feel bad for Sailor Pluto, other senshi get to represent planets... but Pluto isn't a planet, it's a "dwarf planet"

Poor Sailor Pluto

I wanted to tell everyone who was interested because I know that the S.H figuarts were popular among a lot of fans of Sailor Moon but Banpresto is releasing their own line of figures for the series called "Sailor Moon Girls Memory" Here are the pictures of the first three figures that are going to be released in January 2015.

p_smoon_670.jpgsmercury_670_zpscfae05ec.jpgsailormoon-mars-ufo-crane-prize-figure2014.jpg

As you can see they are in their dynamic poses from the series and the sculpt is absolutely amazing! I can't wait to buy these so to add them in with my growing figure collection. I have been a Sailor Moon fan for the last 18 years and as a fan it is great that the series has come back in such a big way with Viz Media releasing the series for the first time on Blu-ray and Banpresto bringing us these awesome figures!

They're late. They didn't show up until 11:08 p.m.

Just finished episode 1.

It's 90% good, but

1. Stephanie Sheh isn't pulling off the crying parts very well
2. That "SAILOR MOON!" commercial interlude sounds horrendous being said by fluent English speakers haha

Beryl is PERFECT

I agree. I even laughed at how bad it sounds. The Japanese one didn't need to be dubbed, it was already spoken in English.

Also when saying "moon tiara action" it was less dramatic in the dub. The Japanese version is a little more drawn out "moon tiaaara action!" And in the dub it's spoken normally.

Here's the Japanese version for comparison

I take back what I said about Sheh. Episode 2 is a vast improvement for everyone performance-wise.

I agree about Moon Tiara Action, though. She isn't yelling it haha

I didn't think her performance in the first episode was that bad

Also, it's interesting how they changed up the commercial breaks. In episode 2, the first one is all the dudes, and the second is all the ladies. In the episode 1 it was everyone in both.

"That's crossing the line, and this is NOT a crosswalk!"

...lol what?

The front desk guy's lines in episode 3 are nearly identical to the DiC dub. Nice

For what it's worth, those commercial bumpers are called "eyecatches."

Thank you. I was trying to remember the name, but my mind was drawing a blank.

So I've decided to wait for the set to go down in price a bit before ordering. It's not fair IMO for just half of a season and I
would feel disappointed once it is cheaper + there are also other September-November releases that need my attention. lol

Keep in mind that half-season is nearly as long as most series' full seasons, for which ~$55 is not a bad price (and I believe the usual approximate MSRP). $57 for 23 episodes on DVD and BD, an 88-page guide plus a chipboard box for both volumes is a pretty good deal.

But I can understand cutting it for sake of budgeting; I cancelled my Batman TV preorder in favor of this set.

When it was first up for pre-order, I was debating for about an hour if I should get it or wait. I'm so glad I pre-ordered, the coin sold out fast! At this point though, it probably doesn't matter since you can't get it anymore...

This is one of those releases where I have to seriously consider the dvd only set over the BD. It's currently half the price of the BD on Amazon Canada. Old anime shows like this sometimes seem to be allergic to price drops especially in Canada.

You're right. That's not bad with the booklet and box included. I may wait though and see if Amazon offers a similar price. I've ordered from RS before and I know that they tend to ship things early, but Amazon is my go-to retailer and I'd know exactly when I would receive it. Just depends on which has the best price closer to the release. lol Anyway, I kinda hope that they don't release standard editions and keep the LEs reasonably priced, so all of the sets (at least the ones that I'll buy) match.

It seems like as the episodes progress, the dub gets better. I still don't like the eyecatchers though, they sound rediculas.
