The guy just screams way too much. Lime someone said, he overstayed his welcome. I hope this movie does well enough for a 3d bluray.

Looks pretty campy. My girl rolled her eyes when I told her I want to see it - not surprised given she hated The Fifth Element. Guess I'll try to catch it alone during an early matinee when it comes out.

I really can't wait for this. Since comes out during Comic Con weekend I'm not sure when I'll see it, either Thursday night or sometime on Sunday.

Looks incredible, I will definitely love this, there is no doubt in my mind. The 3D should be absolutely magnificent.

Box office gross doesn't matter in terms of my enjoyment of the film. Basically the only thing that a poor financial performance can influence is the likelihood of a direct sequel.

Box office failure can also harm the opportunities of the filmmaker behind it, but Besson is so well established and his movies are mostly funded outside of the Hollywood system, so he doesn't really have to worry about that.

i believe this movie will do very well in china. also i dont think is has box office bomb written al over it.

dehane is also a very good actor. i recently saw cure for wellness and he was very good in that movie. the movie itself was also beatiful shot, however story wise it was not that great.

I don't think it will bomb, but I don't think it will be a huge hit either, probably somewhere in between. I wish it would do well enough for a sequel, but that is out of my control. All I know is I'm glad it got made and I plan on enjoying it.

I'll be seeing Valerian no matter what the critics say because:

A) It's Luc Besson
B) I love The Fifth Element
C) I love space operas
D) Refer back to answers A, B and C

The main reason everyone should watch this however, is the fact that the source material is guite great.

It's the opening 10 minutes. And as you and I know from seeing this already it's a great 15 or so minute opening sequence.

Valerian looks interesting and I do want to see it. Whether or not it will be a hit, I can't say, but I believe it is going to get overshadowed on it's opening weekend because it comes out here on the same day as Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and that film will probably get most of the media attention that weekend.

I totally agree, Valerian needs to hit the teen demographic. I don't think Dunkirk is really on too many teens radar.

Very valid point, both of these films are on my radar & I will be seeing them opening weekend. Dunkirk in 70MM & Valerian in 3D.

It doesn't matter a whit to me how much money it makes, so long as it's entertaining. I enjoyed John Carter, but hated Jupiter Ascending and Cloud Atlas.

Valerian is destined to lose money, though, no matter how good it might turn out to be.

Knowing how big this universe is and what other stories the source material has in store for us, I have to say I do care.
