Still an overall positive review.

Only other one I've heard was Variety saying it was 'overlong, but never slow', which was expected that someone would feel that way, given the runtime.

Still, so far all positive reviews, and most are ecstatic.

I was at Barnes And Noble in Tulsa, OK today and there were several people picking up the paperback of the novel. I am curious about the film since I had never really heard about the case that it based on. I have lived in Oklahoma most of my life but we were not taught about this or the Tulsa race riots in school.

"How was the movie? It was excellent. Scorsese even captured some of our humor. The performances across the board were Oscar worthy, I mean it. I've never seen a movie like this before. No White Savior, nothing needed to be made up. The violence is real and the music of the Osage language was beautifully spoken by all of the actors especially the non-Osage actors. At some point I stopped worrying about the subtitles. But the ending. Oh man, you will not forget the ending. But you're going to have to see the film for that. My lips are sealed."

The problem with Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio is the emphasis is on them in place of the story.

The story, and related book, is so phenomenal, the above may become a distraction, not an asset.

That said, if we're getting the Scorsese responsible for The Age of Innocence, all in. If we're getting the Scorsese of The Irishman, my preference is elsewhere.

That was my post two years ago, and we're apparently getting The Irishman version of Scorsese according to David Erich at IndieWire as well as others:

The book from which “Killers of the Flower Moon” has been adapted is a sweeping tale about the end of the Wild West and the birth of the 20th century, as the author David Grann devotes roughly equal time to the modern sociopath who orchestrated the Osage slayings and the old-fashioned cowboy who J. Edgar Hoover dispatched to stop him. Scorsese’s more narrowly focused version takes stock of those tectonic shifts in our nation’s history, but only in passing.

It’s a difficult balancing act for a filmmaker as gifted and operatic as Scorsese, whose ability to tell any story rubs up against his ultimate admission that this might not be his story to tell. And so, for better or worse, Scorsese turns “Killers of the Flower Moon” into the kind of story that he can still tell better than anyone else: A story about greed, corruption, and the mottled soul of a country that was born from the belief that it belonged to anyone callous enough to take it.

Given the usual usual, this is bound to be an unpopular post but given how much I respect Grann's book, for me the early reviews are a bit of a disappointment.

While I'm a big Marty, Bobby & Leo Show fan and the trailer is phenomenal, the hard truth is it's going to be difficult to screen KOTFM and not keep referencing the book and questioning if it was really worth setting aside the material to put themselves, Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio, front and center.

I mean, he's basically taken the book, completely changed the writer's intent, and delivered another crime movie with the same old same 'ol opus take.

Entertaining? Sure. The right approach for the material? Not sure about that.

Hollywood is Hollywood, and let's face it, there's a long history of taking titles along with bits and pieces and making a film yours, but given Grann's outstanding accomplishment (reading his latest gem, The Wager, right now and also rumored for Scorsese film adaptation) for me it's a mixed bag at best.
