here in tulsa we have a place called ultimate electronics where i was able to purchase a 151 last week for 5300 and thats with 4 year warranty and tax!!! it helps if you know someone who works there, but basically just ask them how low they can go and they are usually straight up with you.
now have 2 kuros, the 6010 and 151. gotta say im happy!!! |

Personally if I was living along without other family members I would just own one Pioneer Kuro. If one is single all they really need is one display. When people live with small or large families what happens everyone wants to watch something different. These other Pioneer displays were not gifts, they are paying me for the screens that I am setting up for them. Also not every TV location will be updated. There are office and kitchen locations that make a 50 inch size to big. Those areas will get a 26 inch and 32 inch screen. Some of my family members and relatives keep their TV's for 20 years. The displays being upgraded are CRT tube TV's. Also when I talk about family members, I sometimes help relatives setup displays at their house, so not all the Pioneer displays are going in one house. I am guessing that maybe they will keep the Pioneers for 10 or 20 years. Personally in 10 years I might want to get the main home theater room upgraded to a 4K quality display if a 4K optical format is every released around 2016.
I am starting to get PM messages asking me for pricing info on Pioneer screens. I want to make it clear I do not sell any consumer products. I am just an educated videophile and in this forum I provided a few links to places where one can look to find good prices on Pioneer products and detailed information on the models to choose from. well i want to say up greaded but i really mean down graded from a 5020 to a panasonic v10. my kuro had picture issues and pioneer wouldn't send parts or a new panelthey just credited me and i went out and bought a v10. i know the v 10 is rated very well and has cool features but man i really miss the deep deep dark blacks of the pioneer.

well the tech said he has never seen a problem like it, but the best way to describe it was.... it looked like a greasy thumb print on the in side of the glass. it really only could be seen in white or light colored scenes, in all actuality i probably could have kept it but when you pay that kind of money you would like it to be blemish free

well i bought it from american tv and they didn't have anymore left at any of their stores, and pioneer would only credit american for the set they wouldn't send a new one. it wasn't actually a smudge thats just what it looked like it was a grey circle. when watching the stanley cup finals i would get confused as to what was the puck because the "thumb print" looked like a fast moving puck when the camera would pan

The Pioneer manual on page 82 for the Elite Signature series says: "In rare cases, some pixels can be permanently switched off, or on, resulting in either a black or colored pixel permanently fixed on the screen. This effect is common to all plasma displays because it is a consequence of the technology." Last edited by HDTV1080P; 06-22-2009 at 05:03 AM. Reason: spelling |

The PDP-6020 ($5,500 list price) and PRO-151FD ($6,500 list price) are both really good displays. The PRO-151FD is an Elite that comes with a two year warranty instead of 1 year that the PDP-6020 has. The Elite has a improved color filter, is ISFccc Calibration ready for the best possible picture, has more video processing technology, and better sounding stereo speakers. Here is a review on the PDP-6020FD Pioneer Kuro PDP-6020FD 60” Plasma (72HZ) There was never a professional review published on the PRO-151FD but the PRO-111FD 50 inch model is exactly the same as the 60 inch PRO-151FD accept for size, weight, and dimensions. Here is some links to download 3 color PDF reviews on the PRO-111FD. This display has so many good reviews and received 2008 product of the year award from at least two different magazines. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=1628404&postcount=703[/font] Last edited by HDTV1080P; 06-22-2009 at 06:35 AM. |

My 5020FD was assembled in September 2008 & so was my 111FD. My 151FD was assembled in July 2008, I think... I'll have to double check. I have ZERO defects of any kind with my displays, their all absolutely Japanese perfection.
