I don't know, but I've seen a similar signed copy on YouTube some weeks ago. At the 17:40 minute mark. Ask the lad, he was surely there if it was signed in person. I think he's also a user here.

They weren’t signed in person, but available signed from TWF. Initially a Kickstarter project I think.

I don't know but I recall it being limited to 1000 copies.

Just found the old Kickstarter. First 250 copies signed by the directors for £16 including postage to anywhere in the world.

It was a pretty close remake sans the enthusiasm. I think a big part of the reason the original works so well is the sheer passion everyone clearly has for the project, they're all in and loving what they're doing. The French one just felt like a bunch of people hired to do a quick rehash and it was completely unengaging, and I couldn't stop thinking what a waste of time it was when I could just be watching the original again.

I finally watched the Door films. I remember on the podcast they mentioned they are different and they weren't lying!

I at least expected Door 2 to be a horror film but nope.

Both quite enjoyable and offered something different from the other.

Now to try and track down 3 directed by none other - Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

i believe there's resistance to license those ones out.

personally, there's quite a few ishii films that would make a set i'd like.

The first film (as well as all other Roman Porno films Machiko Otani appears in) is under Nikkatsu's self-imposed distribution ban since about 15 years ago, and won't be licensed out. The rest are available.

Just watched an old interview with Adam Torel in which he talked about promoting Kakera: A Piece of Our Lufe because Momoko Ando was an exciting young female director with a great career in front if her. She did one more film, got married, had a child and hasn't done any films since.

According to IMDB she did the following in 2018:

Uta Monogatari: Cinema Fighters Project - (segment Aeiou)

IMDB also lists Aeiou (from the film listed above) as a separate short.
