I think if you're looking for it to be "agenda driven" then that's exactly what you'll find.

Saw this yesterday evening. Theatre was 85% full. What's it been, 3 weeks since release? Impressive. Liked it a lot 8/10 IMO. Good stuff. Watching Gal onscreen is pure pleasure.

Yeah, pretty impressive: Pulled in almost $11M on Friday. Should be another good weekend. Between reviews and word of mouth, it's definitely got some legs.

Like Gal.

Saw it yesterday. We loved it. 9/10. Course, we also both loved Suicide Squad.
I hated BvS. It's on my list of top ten worst movies ever. Ugh. The WW cameo in it was too short to see if Gadot could carry the role in a feature film. She did great with the bit part in the movie, but that's not 1.5-2 hours. And I'm old enough to remember Lynda Carter, so it's some really big shoes to fill.

Gotta say, Gadot and Pine did a great job. The writing and dialogue was good. Flow of the movie was good. It showed the chemistry between the Gadot and Pine growing. It also showed WW coming into more of her powers. Action was good. I guess the main detracting part was that you didn't really get a villain until the last 1/4 of the movie. I understand why. They wanted to convey how Diana goes from innocent to "experienced" in the horrors of the war. Plus, the twist (I saw it coming) with the villain. Overall, fun, adventurous, actiony, serious in the right places. DC got it right with Wonder Woman.

For all of the talk of the DCEU doing poorly up until Wonder Woman, the box office numbers are surprisingly similar for all 4 movies.

Man of Steel did $291 Million Domestic and $668 Million overall.
Bat/Super did $330 Million Domestic and $873 Million overall.
Suicide Sq did $325 Million Domestic and $745 Million overall.

When you adjust for inflation, the numbers become even closer domestically.

Wonder Woman is probably looking at around $350 domestic and $750 to $800 Million overall.

The only thing Wonder Woman has really done is given good press to the DCEU. Finally the rest of the viewers are realizing how great this Universe is....

Aye, despite the critics these movies have pulled in big numbers every single time, and I'm still astonished by Suicide Squad's performance which did that without a Chinese release. Not sure if a Cyborg or Aquaman standalone would do anything like these figures though.

Nope, I looked for it to be a fun superhero show. The agenda driven mess just hits you like a sledgehammer. You probably have to love that agenda not to notice.

Uh no, not 10x the heart. Maybe 10x the attempt at emotional manipulation...which was then wasted. Nice insults by the way.

No, viewers are finally seeing WB/DC starting to turn things around, giving them hope that this DC universe can still realize its full potential.

Great hold for #WonderWoman w/ $40.8M, off only 30% in 3rd wknd. Cume $274.6M, shd smash $300M on SAT. Upping my forecast to $370M+ final.

My problem with this is it does a great disservice to WW when you simply line up the final numbers.

350m for WW is an infinitely greater achievement than BvS' 330m even though they are only 20m apart.

WW did it based on great reviews. BvS did it based on horrible reviews. Despite the fact that both movies are fantastic in different ways.

Yeah, but people would still go see BvS regardless of the horrible reviews because it's the first time ever seeing Batman and Superman in the same movie.

Box Office: The only aspect of art that matters, ©2017.

If profit and popularity were the only ways society measured value it would be a pretty dull, same-y existence.

Acting as if BO isn't the only thing that matters for a 200m plus production by calling it "art"...

Getting back to Wonder Woman....it's doing amazing at the box office, no question. One thing that's interesting is that it's pacing almost equally in the foreign market as the domestic. Has it not opened in all foreign markets yet?
