Now I'm going to go check out my HT room with my little Sony avr hooked up. Side by side my Onkyo that's going for repairs comared to my Sony is like The Mountain next to Tyrion. Maybe beer will help.
While you wait for your Onkyo to be fixed, you can be gruesomely killed in a Game of Thrones book for only $20k.

I saw that. It really pisses me off that he's willing to sell out like that, since it's taken him decades to not finish the damned books because of his "integrity". I mean, what if the person's name is Dylan or Britney, etc?

Sounds like something I'd do in one of my elevated states of mind

If I had an extra $20k laying around I'd do it... with stipulations. I tell GRRM to let my have a round or two with Dany, you know, show her a real Dragon. It will then read something like this, "Sir Waboman of the agave was viscously eviscerated and his entrails used to make children's toys." Money well spent.

The sad thing is I was completely sober. One night when I was really baked, I accidentally pushed the wrong input button on my avr remote without realizing it while me and some friends were watching a movie. After fumbling around with the remote for a while, I still coudn't figure out what went wrong and had to shut it down for the night. The next day I realized that all I had to do was press the "BD" button.

Nice.

I just wish somebody would pay him to finish the damned books already. He's been working on this series since 1991 which is 23 freakin' years! I wish I would've known that I might have to wait six or seven years between each book being published before I started reading this series.

By the way, this upcoming last episode of the season should be a real doozy.

Howdy Russ.

They actually have a customer lookup page where you can check the status of your repair. It has updated several times over the last few days. I just now checked it and it says: "Status: A - Assigned - Technician Working on Unit"

Hey Froggy,

Once I hit the HDMI to toggle between outs. Had sound, no pic. Was before I had a PJ so I never used it. Had to call the dealer.

Howdy, Frogger of the Frogshire.

Excellent season finale of Game of Thrones last night. That episode flew by. They covered just about everything too. Brienne gave the dog a bone alright. The Hound got his ass kicked. I hope he pulls thru. I really dig Sandor. Lol. Tywin was lobbying hard not to die in the biffy. I have a sneaky suspicion he will survive. And what is Dr. Frankenstein doing to The Mountain? Now comes the withdrawals of waiting until next season.

Unfortunately while my Onkyo 809 avr is in the shop, I've had to move my little Sony avr from my living room into my HT room, which means that in the living room here where my pc is, the only speakers that I have are my Panny plasma's tv speakers. I can listen to tv shows and discs that I put in my BD player, but I can't listen to my pc's rca stereo output, so no audio from my pc until I get my Onkyo back unfortunately.

The funny thing is that it was the longest episode of GoTs ever, yet it did feel too short to me. As a book reader in general, most of the time people seem to say "It's the movie/tv show, not the original book" as an artistic license excuse to screw up the original story, but as complicated, confusing, and plot heavy as GoTs is, the show runners have stuck amazingly close to the original story. Not always perfectly to the letter, but I'm really amazed at how close they have stayed to the original.

One really f'ed up thing is that several of the character's story arcs are practically caught up with the books right now, which is incredibly distressing to me.

I really felt that this season ender was the best ever. It didn't feel like there was one big main cliffhanger, as it really addressed all of the main characters moving on to their next phase in the story.

George really needs to get to work and finish the damn story before the tv show does. It's almost time for the fat man to eat.

Parts Info: 107308 Due: 06/19/2014
The parts should arrive at the repair facility tomorrow.

Watching/listening to Zappa Plays Zappa right now. Don't listen to Wabo, this is some of the best music of all time.

Ever find yourself wondering about all the complicated relationships in GoT? Wouldn't it be great if they had a title sequence that explained all that.

Unfortunately I still don't have any audio for my pc at the moment, but my Onkyo avr has been repaired. Hopefully I'll have it back in the next couple of days and then I can bring my Sony avr back in here and have my Onkyo back in my HT room.

At least I'm still able to use my HT room for now with the Sony, and while it's not horrible, it still really amazes me how much better my Onkyo makes everything sound. When I first replaced my Sony with the Onkyo, I thought it sounded much better, but after getting used to the way things were in my HT room for the last year or so, and then switching back to the Sony, it's a pretty astounding difference.
