Yeah, I decided to go with the 2-disc edition in the end. It would be nice to have the additional extras but I can't see myself watching the theatrical cut again, so it's no big loss for me.

I have the Limited Edition but honestly if I were buying it now I would just get the standard one for 20. The bonus disc of extras really isn't that great, you aren't missing anything and the theatrical =cut while nice doesn't matter that much. Odds are you will only watch it once or not at all because most like the director's cut better. The Director's cut is up on Netflix instant right now. Go check that out and if you like it better then just buy the regular edition, trust me.

Hmm, I've heard that opinion more than once. It sounds like I'd just be ponying up for the limited set just "to have it all." Being on the budget that I am and with so many discs coming out, the $20 set is sounding like the way to go.

In a way, I'm not terribly surprised that this sold out so quickly. Scream pre-sold a decent-sized portion of the limited print run themselves (half?) directly to customers and had to double the print-run. There was quite a bit of hype about this title that generated a lot of interest about it, even among people who had never seen the movie.
As to whether or not the limited edition was worth the extra cost, I'd say not really. Unless you're a huge fan of the movie or Clive Barker, the regular edition should do just fine. To be perfectly honest, the main draw for me was the exclusive disc of extras on the LE rather than the theatrical cut of the movie, and those were mostly just odds and ends that didn't fit on the DC disc. The TC of the movie is a compromised work, and the DC is Barker's definitive version of the film. I would actually consider selling off my limited edition at some point if I can sell my open copy for $125+ and just buy the standard edition. |

I just ordered Nightbreed the US Import Director's Cut BR/DVD combo pack for £14.51 including delivery from Amazon UK - Region A
ASIN: B00LMBUR6S There is an All Regions Spanish import version of Nightbreed for about £12.70 but doesn't state if it's the Director's cut. ASIN: B00VMU93UK |

Yep. That's where I bought my LE. I go there for all of my Scream/horror needs.

I've incredibly please with how this has sold. It sends a very clear message that at the right price, and with the right features and packaging that physical media can do quite well even with the limited exposure in this digital age. I'm hopeful that this encourages Scream Factory to try their luck on other projects like this. I wish Hellraiser Bloodline would have had all it's original scenes shot, as that could have been an amazing release as well.
