It's nice to have some time to just relax, watch some great films and have some snacks.

I remember reading in your thread a while back that you might be interested in getting the Indiana Jones set on BD. I would personally highly recommend doing so. I really like all four films very much and all four of them also have great audio and video.

Out of all of the blu-rays in my collection, Raiders of the Lost Ark has the most film-like transfer I have ever seen. When I watch it projected in my HT room on my 130" screen, I swear it's like I'm watching a real film projector. Plus they're just a whole helluva lot of fun.

Is you HT back to normal? Did you get your AVR back from repair?

Yeah .......... Those and the Star Wars saga. The reason I had been reluctant was the fact I watched them a lot on DVD and didn't know If they'd get a lot of play now (it had been years).

After watching both sets ........ It looks like I'll be picking them up

Yes Sir, I've had my AVR back for almost a month now. I didn't really go into any details about it at the time, but I did do a complete refreshening of my entire room after getting it back (sorry, one long run-on paragraph):

I cleaned and readjusted all of my speakers including the surrounds and made sure all of the wire terminals were good and tight, readusted/moved both of my subs slightly further from the outer walls of the room and a bit further away from the back wall too, took my projector apart and gently wiped down the lamp and prism reflector, cleaned the fans and just generally cleaned out the interior and vacuumed off the air filter too, recalibrated my pj with the Disney Wow/AVS calibration discs, checked and cleaned all connections on everything, readjusted my couch, wiped down, cleaned, and vacuumed everything in the entire room, updated the firmware for my AVR and my BD player, then pulled out my notebook on my past Audyssey calibrations and thoroughly read through all of my notes, then got out my measuring tape and tripod stand (I also made some foam isolator pads to decouple the tripod stand from the floor which really seems to help with adjusting the subs) and really took my time getting the calibration mic in just the right height/locations, and ran the best sounding Audyssey calibration I've yet had. I also only have just over 300 hours on my new pj lamp, and the contast and color of my pj is much better with the new lamp, and after my latest audio calibration, the bass seems a bit smoother, deeper, and tighter, dialog is a bit more crisp and intelligible, and overall the audio from all of the speakers seems to be a bit more seamless. The audio and video are the best they've ever been in my HT room.

I know there are a lot of opinions/hate for certain movies in the Indy/Star Wars collections (ie: Crystal Skull and the prequel trilogy), but I really love them all. Out of my entire collection, those two sets are some of my absolute favorites.

I don't always have to have all movies in a collection though. Alien is one of my favorites and Aliens is a lot of fun too. I bought the Alien Anthology set a while back and although I vaguely remembered not caring much for Alien³ and Alien: Resurrection, I figured I would give them another try.

After rewatching them, I decided that Alien³ was one of the most awful abominations ever put on film and I despise it probably more than any other movie ever made. Resurrection was just kind of bad. I promptly sold off my anthology set and rebought the stand alone versions of Alien and Aliens. As far as I'm concerned, the other two don't even exist and it almost makes me angry just thinking about the 3rd one. Conversely, I really like Prometheus, the pseudo-prequel to Alien quite a lot.

Sounds like you did a great job re-doing the place. One of these days I hope I get the chance to visit if I am ever in the area.

Just gimmie a couple o' days notice so I can pick up a bit. I think you would really love and enjoy every aspect of my setup, except for maybe the subs. Most of my friends think my 12" Boston Acoustics sub and my 12" Acoustic Audio sub rock like nothing else, but me and my friend with a single 12" Paradigm sub know better. The BA does a modestly decent job most of the time, and the AA "fart-box" does its damn'dest to try and keep up(it usually helps to reinforce the BA, but it occasionally it does literally bottom out on some of the deepest notes, if I'm really pushing them).

Have a very solid buzz right now , listening to Animals again.
