It's deception, and don't deny it. A lossless codec is LOSSLESS! It doesn't matter if something is compressed to me as long as nothing is lossed!!!!!
Except that makes no sense. The video file alone for Pirates is over 35GB. When you can tell me how that fits in 30, and no video on either medium is even close to lossless....

Quote:
I'm not saying it is, but I definitely WILL not believe someone who is obviously in favor of one format tell me something without providing facts. Since, I'm a skeptic and believe companies are capable of lying, I would rather see open discussion than one sided ones!!!
So then you don't believe a word Amir says either, especially after all the times he's been caught blatantly lying.

No corporation is going to allow full-blown open discussion. That's why Amir spends 4/5 of his time bashing Blu-Ray

Quote:
Which is why I wish Paid and Talk would respond and challenge as well in a nuetral forum, instead of a biased one such as this. What the purpose of posting only on this site if people here have already chosen sides?
Because if you haven't noticed, they don't go on the attack, merely provide information where they can, and correcting the bullshit. While Amir spends all his time attacking. Talk and Penton are still over there, Paid is just taking a break from FUD fighting

Because

1- AVS is not neutral and never has been. Amir runs rampant over there, and the BD insiders get attacked, just like this constantly and a mod never says word one. Do anything other than wash Amir's feet and it's 30 days in the clink for "insulting an insider"

2- They want to help their existing customers get the most out of their purchases.

I'll tell you flat out: People like Paid are really freaking busy and work very long hours. The fact that they do this at all is on their own dimes.

I'm sorry...I've been reading through this thread and I don't claim to be a Blu-Ray guru by no means but...How can you make this statement like this, and you have been basically saying that you believe anything Amir says about BD when even someone with any logical sense can read his statements about BD and know that he's lying. And you want Paid and Talk to prove him wrong? He doesn't even work for Sony, he needs to provide proof for what he says.

$200 a disc for BD-50...

There is no reason not to give out these numbers since it combines all of the factories in one lump and gives not competitor information which obviously they don't know. And BTW, I'm inclined to believe someone who gives a name and can be sued for liable if his assertions are incorrect. And If you want to get personal and can't respond with reason and respect than please don't respond at all. What did I do to offend you sir, that you have to question my education? Is this the type of rubbish that is allowed to be spread on these forums?
It's "libel". Not "liable".

You're a lost cause. Or so you can understand it...

Your a lost cauz.

Well, I'm through trying to debate the benefits of open discussion in a nuetral forum. Paid, I wish you would come back to the AVS forums as I appreciated your insight, but I will not be spending any more time on this or any other non nuetral website.

Thanks for any respectful responses!

Would someone ban this psychopath. He's a malignancy both here and over at AVS.

You never even started. You can't even spell "neutral". you can't even understand that the insider thread is not an "open discussion" nor is promoting insiders to state wildly inaccurate claims helpful to debate.

Dude, is there anything you can do?

AVM$ is a HDDVD site not neutral so I guess you won't be spending any time there right?

Frankly I'm a little embarrassed to approach our replicators about this question, because at this point in time, it's just not relevant anymore.
While they're regurgitating old FUD, perhaps we should be prepared with answers to whether the Samsung P1000 will be able to play BD50s and run BD-J.

Hey, and what about that Fifth Element from June 2006? How's that going to affect things?

Universal then bought the script from Sony so they could adapt it into the film that it is today... ... ... ... ... ...
Seems a weak connection to given any kind of production credit.

That's a funny one. So even if someone wanted to make an X360 Blu-ray add-on, they can't make it BD-Live compliant for all X360s!

guys, please dont let a-man's ridiculous claims push BD insiders into making some kind of statement about BD-50 yields.

The fact that he is mentioning such wild #s shows that he is knowingly trying to push people's buttons and get a statement out. Then, whatever the yield # is, he will spin it. "What? Only 90%, that is abysmal" etc etc.

We know how it will go. Lets not fall into the trap. Such desperate tactics are good news. It shows he has nothing factual to fight with.

Sure they can, but they'd have to put the flash memory directly on the add-on.
