Not surprised at all, but still bummed, I'd hoped maybe a summer run again but was 99% sure it was dead.

'The Good Guys' Canceled
Quote:
This will surprise only about three people, but since those three people visit our blog and harass us on Twitter, the The Dallas Observer’s ‘Unfair Park’ blog reports that The Good Guys will not return for a second season.

Fox Television Studios confirmed to Unfair Park that the show won’t return, but would not comment further.

Note, that’s the studio, not the FOX broadcast network, but if the studio says there will be no more, there will be no more.

Unfair Park dug into it after being alerted by Janis Burklund, the head of the Dallas Film Commission. Burklund said she’d received the heads up from a high ranking exectuvive at the studio

Given its Friday ratings, the cancellation wasn’t ever really in doubt, but after losing to the CW on Friday by 30% with adults 18-49 with a 0.7 rating for its finale, only a few lost souls believed in miracles.

Yep, I'm now done with SyFy. Cancel the two shows I like? Frakk you then. I'll buy the show (thats right SHOW) that I like from that network thats still on when it hits DVD. Enjoy your shitty reality shows SyFy. (also your crappy sounding pilots and remakes.)

SGU cancelled huh -_- ..... Tv in general has just about broken me when it comes to sci-fi, my favorite genre. I feel like its not even worth investing myself in a new series when it will never be given the support or chance it deserves.

Do these execs not realize what fandom can mean for the bank, are they really that short sited. I seem to remember a certain show lasting only three seasons and spawning an endless bank for the greedy sobs at paramount.

SG-1 would have most certainly been cancelled in todays tv/scifi environment, along with babylon 5, x-files, among many others. Now we get a season or two of potential and a nice cancellation before a show can reach its peak and solidify itself.

INSERT MORE PISSED RANTING HERE

really though this does bother me, i just hit up the dvr today to watch the mid season finale and thought it was great.

Glad they went ahead and cancelled caprica as well, since i was just about to start getting into that one. Saved me some time. Too many good books out there that actually have endings.

Does syfy even have any shows besides these two? -_-

SyFy still has Eureka, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, Haven and some pilots on order. I only watch Haven and really hope that's not next.

Eureka and WH13 suck, Sanctuary hasn't been renewed (and was not in their list of "shows we have next year") so it's probably dead, they have a crappy looking remake, crappy sounding pilots, Haven and Wrestling.

Same here. Granted I watch it on Hulu instead of recording it, but that is going to end soon since SyFy decided to put a 30 day hold on each episode right before the final two episodes of the season. Needless to say, I was a little pissed that I had to wait a month to finish the season.

Anyways, Haven is renewed for a second season. I like the show, so hopefully it at least gets a decent run.

I looked at SyFy's site and noticed that Sanctuary is having it's mid-season finale tonight, so that likely wouldn't be renewed right now anyways.

I understand you being pissed at the network. I've been there already with Fox before.

Surprised to see so many early pickups, and even more surprised that Cougar Town was renewed. Guess they have absolutely no faith in Mr Sunshine, I knew they weren't big fans of it and that's why it was pushed to such a late start but very surprised they didn't wait to see if it could outperform Cougar Town. They should just cancel it now, lol.

Yeah I was really surprised to see that Cougar Town got an early pick up. Would be funny to see Sunshine outperform Cougar Town now.

If Mr. Sunshine does well they could always move it or Cougar Town to 8:30. It's clear Better With You isn't the fourth piece of ABC's Wednesday comedy block. I would be very surprised if Mr. Sunshine does well though even with a strong lead-in.

Abc renewed 3/4 comedies. They also have a plan to have two nights of comedy next year. Mr Sunshine still has a chance if it's a ratings hit.

It's still a shame that Better off Ted never got a shot in that comedy block - but I'd be happy to follow Better With You to another night. It's certainly my favorite new comedy of the season - even if it pales in comparison to Modern Family.

Not sure about One Tree Hill as I don't watch it but I did hear the 8th was supposed to be the last but I assume ratings will decide that.

What the frakk are the network suits smoking? All these great Sci-fi series are getting cancelled yet crappy sitcom type shows that are a dime a dozen keep going and going and going. It's like they don't want our demographic to watch TV.

Fringe was so awesome! Loved the first season, strong second season. Have yet to watch the third (waiting for Blu-ray as I live outside the US). It's like the new X-files to me and they cancel it?

Stargate Universe same story. Stargate has been such a staple in the past 10 or more years and now all of a sudden they pull it off the air?

I don't get it. Crappy soap operas go on and on for what seems like an endless loop of who's with who and quality TV gets the shaft after two or three seasons. Are TV networks run my middleaged housemoms or something?

Sorry for the rant but it seems that TV is dying little by little. I almost have nothing left aside Sanctuary, Supernatural and the last season of Smallville to watch.
