Wow! Is this a fact? They are actually fixing the noted flaws? Unbelievable.

Yeah, but it happens. I bought the US Mel Brooks set, and eight of the nine discs are region free, but Young Frankenstein is region A locked. (Even though it has the same distributor worldwide.)

Great news for the US set, but what about all the other regions, including the UK?
I'm hoping, within the next couple days to a week, we start seeing members reporting a delay notice from Amazon(or where applicable).

I'm sure they will be delayed too. :-)

I hope so...but I don't put anything past Universal. Although I do have to give them credit for actually fixing the US set(for now), and delaying the release instead of releasing a known subpar product.

Yeah, you're right. Anyway, I have a hunch they may at least be correcting the Frenzy titles if they are repairing something. I am just guessing, but from an American perspective, I imagine they can get sued for revisioning and misspelling actor's names.

The only reason we have not had an announcement about the UK sets is because Universal UK's PR team have not sent out a notice yet. As often happens with US-based international studios, the US division got word out first. Even though the overarching company is the same, the branches are technically autonomous.

Another good reason would be that when news of the US delay broke it was already the evening in the UK - I doubt very much that anybody outside of these pages thinks it is urgent enough to not wait until next week - I would even hazard a guess that the employees of Universal EU/UK won't even know about a delay until they check their emails on Monday morning.

All good points! I really like this UK set, and don't mind one iota if it gets delayed to make it a better product! Heck, with all the stuff I have on order over the next month...pushing this back is actually a blessing!

It's about a week since I first read on the forums about the USA delay, so I fail to see why UK staff still shouldn't know about it over a week later. I guess it's because this isn't like it's their job or anything. Oh wait!....

I thought it was just announced this past week, like a couple days ago? About the US set being delayed.

Okay, that's what I thought! Either way, hopefully those that ordered the UK set(and all the other regions) get news of a delay!

Since October 1st is on a monday, I think they're shipping the pre-orders on friday 28th. If there's no news about a delay by monday 24th I'm going to cancel.

Perhaps a different company did the final transfer of the US set, which may have had issues. For all we know the UK set is good to go.

I'll keep my pre-order, but if they delay it to correct issues I have no problem with that. Either way I want the UK ultimate set!

I just thought Universal massed produced these, thusly being region free? If what you're saying is the case, where are the advance UK reviews?

I thought there was a Universal Studios UK. It was just a thought.

I guess I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we still get this on 1 October and it's looking good!

Well, since both sets are released at the same time I fnd it hard to believe they did 2 separate transfers for the UK and the US. That would be a waste of time and money.

Yeah, I'm sure they are the same. We'll probably hear about our UK release being delayed this upcoming week.

I ended up canceling. I had a question about the exchange rate on this though. When I ordered both editions the 100 pound one and the 97 pound one, they both ended up being about 83 pounds and 80 pounds. What's the reason for the almost 20 pound price drop?
