Yeah, it would be nice to contact them, but I've had no luck finding info for their home video department.

Apparently they have a new head of home entertainment which is why Scream Factory was able to get a deal with them, and why there are a lot of their catalogue films coming out. It seems like their invested in getting these movies out there, so part of me thinks they will listen to our feedback.

I am fine with paying $20 a pop for MOD BD-R's of Pretty In Pink, Some Kind Of Wonderful, The Golden Child, Another 48 Hours, Harlem Nights, Gung Ho, Breakdown, The Ghost And The Darkness, Beautician and The Beast, Popeye if that's what finally gets them all on Blu-ray.

I don't like paying for MOD BD-R's but for movies I want physical copies of really bad yeah.

I do appreciate that Sony is doing MOD pressed BD. It should be an industry standard but BD-R is obviously a little cheaper.

Only BD-R's I passed on of movies I like are Real Genius and Neighbors (1981) because of possible Mill Creek connection. Neighbors got a pressed disc and I bought it but Real Genius still BD-R I have not got that one yet.

I would be all over those Paramount titles on BD-R though if Paramount decided to release them. There are exceptions despite that I don't prefer BD-R at all when paying a premium price for product, I generally try to avoid them.

Let's wait and see what they end up releasing, if anything, from that survey.

so Paramount is just releasing/rereleasing their titles on BD R's and not bothering with 4K UHD unless they can maybe tie it with a sequel/remake coming out in theaters? Screw Paramount

I guess BD-R is better than nothing, but I would certainly not pay $20 for a barebones burned disc. I’d probably consider it at a bargain price though. Whether they last or not, discs are literally no different from the ones you’d get at Office Max for your home movies.

I don't know, man. How many "Blu-ray Insiders" named Cliff from California post on Blu-ray.com? What are the odds it's two different people?

It's sad to say this but, with Kirk's recent passing, it might prompt Paramount to release some of his films from their catalog, including Last Train From Gun Hill, later this year. That, or some sort of anniversary date, seems to be what it takes these days for studios to release some of their long awaited catalog titles.

Big news: Paramount have announced a new label to handle their studio back catalog. It's called "Paramount Presents," and the first three titles slated for release are Fatal Attraction, King Creole, and To Catch a Thief. Future titles will include Airplane!, Flashdance, Ghost, and new-to-BD titles such as The Golden Child and Pretty in Pink.

Fingers ever so crossed for announcements of The Parallax View, A Place in the Sun, and especially Roman Holiday soon...

Great news. Also, from the looks of the release I think its safe to say these will be pressed discs. Hopefully, Roman Holiday, The Shootist, The Sons of Katie Elder, and the original War of the Worlds will be coming.

Yeah, by all indications, I can't imagine that these would be burned discs. It's taken them long enough, but I'm pretty stoked.

I almost don't even care if they release anything besides Roman Holiday. I've waited years for it.

Sure, great news about the new Paramount label but a real downer on them re-issuing titles that have already hit blu-ray instead of films, masterpieces you could say, such as Hud or The Parrallax View, as noted above, that have been years in the waiting to get a blu-ray upgrade. So far for Paramount this is a false start!

The films are going to be remastered and should look better than before. And getting titles like Pretty in Pink and remastered editions of Flashdance, Airplane!, Ghost, and as well as several titles arriving on Blu-ray for the first time ever, including Pretty in Pink and The Golden Child. I can't understand how anyone can be disappointed by this news. Sure, many more titles will be coming as long as people get out there and support this new line.

Pretty in Pink, Flashdance, and The Golden Child. Towering achievements in cinema. Go get 'em, Paramount!

What part and more titles did you miss which will surely include classics? But sure show Paramount by not buying and then the line ends and you don't get any of those classic films you want.

Let me put it this way, I don't have a lot of faith in Paramount's decision making when it comes to home media. They've been woefully behind the curve on reissuing their vast back catalog to the high-definition format which has been around for over a decade and so far it's been a drip-drip-drip scenario from Paramount. So when they finally make a commitment to do so it's mostly reissues of films they've miraculously already put out in hi-def (nothing against Fatal Attraction or Ghost), and the back catalog films they've chosen to reissue in hi-def for the first time are quite underwhelming. Finally, Paramount has a reputation of moving forward as if they're stuck in the mud. So we will see how this develops but I'm setting the expectations quite low.

To you. Those two are near the top of my list of most wanted Paramount titles and I would imagine that's the case for many others as well. If you don't like those, you won't be liking the rest of my most wanted: Summer School, She's Having a Baby, Some Kind of Wonderful, Gung Ho, Popeye, Urban Cowboy, and Foul Play.

If you want to check out Paramount's top theatrical releases and sort by box office, you'll find that almost all of their top grossing titles have been released. "The Golden Child" may be near the top of the list when sorting the unreleased titles by domestic box office. Really, looking through their unreleased stuff, I wonder what someone who finds "Pretty in Pink" and "The Golden Child" underwhelming would find worthy.

True, but at this point i'd take anything from them....I'd really like The Parallax View in HD...if only 1080p
