^ yeah the only time I ever played Tomb Raider was when it came on a demo disc with my PS1, and she looked like that.

I actually like Angel of Darkness. The only thing that I couldn't stand was the frame rate and some game mechanics. I wish they'd make a remaster someday, but I highly doubt it'll happen.

I love The Angel of Darkness. It's buggy and Lara is slow as ****, but there's a lot to like about it. Shame Core Design never had the chance to follow through with the trilogy they had planned.

It's kinda sad cause it's clear that game was rushed. I didn't know they were planning on a trilogy, but now that I know that it makes me a little sad and disappointed about what could have been.

The development was a mess. Core weren't used to working with the PS2 hardware and there was very little communication going on within the team. They had to rework the control system at the last minute and Sony rejected the game multiple times because it was so glitchy!

But yeah, Murti Schofield mapped out ideas for another two games. Angel has definitely accumulated a cult following over time but for the most part, it's still considered the worst in the series. Shame because, for all its faults, I think it's much better than Legend.

Sincerely, I could never make head or tails of the controls of the original Core Design games, even at the time they were horrible, only justified by having to fit on a digital gamepad.

[Note: My last console was a Sega Mega Drive, afterwards I always played games either on PC or on a Gameboy Color]

I was able to appreciate the Crystal Dynamics entries over the course of the last two years (I bought them at different times through Steam) mostly because the controls are much better.

Call me a masochist cause I love the original games...tank controls and all lol. I do understand how they can turn off other gamers though. My fiancé thinks they're horrible and doesn't understand why I play them lol.

Both my fiancee and I are long-time fans of the series. My favourite is Tomb Raider II whereas hers is Tomb Raider III. She's not very fond of the most recent games and likes to mock Camilla Luddington's voice acting.

Somewhat out-of-date as I've added to my collection since taking this, but here you go:

My favorite of the originals was The Last Revelation though I've never beaten it. I've only finished the first and second. I'm right at the end of three. Lmao, yeah I can agree with your fiancé about Camilla's voice. Lara's voice isn't too bad in Rise, but I always make fun of Lara's voice in the Reboot. Camilla makes Lara sound so whiny in that game.

Not going to lie, I'm super jealous of your Tomb Raider collection. That's awesome!

The Last Revelation is terrific, but it's the only one of the main pillar titles that I've not completed! The furthest I got was Cairo, which is about three quarters of the way into the game. I should still have my save data somewhere, though, so I'll have to finish it some day.

I don't dislike her voice. I just find it inconsistent. Like Firefoxie said, she's better in Rise, although I'm convinced that she was intoxicated when she recorded vocals for the 'Blood Ties' add-on. Her speech is so slurred!

Jonell Elliot is my personal fave of all the Lara voice actresses.

I had it on PC and the gameplay was pretty much exactly like it is in this video:

The game was delayed 3 times. I had it preordered and had traded in a PlayStation 1 and several games toward that preorder. I was so disappointed with the controls when it finally did come out. The game was so buggy that I couldn't even progress past the second or third portion of the game in trying to enter and get past the guards inside Le Serpent Rouge.

I let it sit for a few months and finally returned to it. Somehow, I was able to finally get past the part I was stuck on (I think I enabled LEVEL SELECT on my Gameshark) and slowly was able to finish it. The story was fantastic, I loved Kurtis Trent, and the graphics were amazing at that time. But there were whole sections, like Le Serpent Rouge, where the controls would not respond at all. The RPG element of upgrading her strength was completely pointless, too. But I still enjoyed the game.

This is the only game series that I own all of the strategy guides for, from the first game up to the 2013 reboot. In middle and high school, my mom would always yell at me to read more, and so I incorporated "reading" with what to do in the guide to playing the actual game. The Last Revelation was the first Tomb Raider game I ever played (thanks to a $10 clearance tag for the PS1 version at Target) and the guide for $15 at GameStop. That game was truly a masterpiece and frustratingly difficult for a novice like me. It prompted me to buy the games before it and those were even tougher. My favorite from that first era is the second game. The locales, the gameplay, the terror, and the story all combined for an amazing experience. It's the only one of the games I've revisited repeatedly.

Anniversary and Legend were both gems. The score for Legend is amazing as well, and I listen to it often. The 2013 reboot is spectacular, and I want to play the newest one so badly. I'm really looking forward to this new movie. They have her look spot-on according tp that first image of Alicia in costume.

My first 15 purchases on eBay were that full set of 6-inch figures (Classic, Tibet, South Pacific, Catsuit, Biker, and Wetsuit), the rest of the strategy guides and games, 2 t-shirts, and a few other Lara Croft items.

It irks me to no end that they never made an Area 51 version from those 6-inch figures, only a 9-inch one. The lack of villians like Von Croy, Larson, Pierre, Natla, etc were also a bit of a letdown. I also made a wishlist of potential figures they could make and how I could go about making a petition to get them produced. Silly high school nerd me.
