Yeah saw that ESPN has K-State in the Cotton & Yahoo has K-State in the Sugar. It will be close but the Computers love K-State (they were at #5 last week). Don't know how a 1/2 loss Mountain West team would get in over a Big 12 but you never know.

Not so much K-State as the Big-12 as a whole. Overall most teams in the Big-12 this year have a higher strength of schedule than even the SEC. The SEC might have better teams at the top but the Big-12 has more good teams. The SEC East dragged down the SEC in strength of schedule this season.

I do think LSU will win the re-match against Alabama. Right now the oddsmakers have LSU pegged as a 1.5 point favorite. Oddly enough they have the over/under at about 40 points, which seems very high.

Ya, a game can be due to bad officiating if it's 14-10. But losing 42-10 is another story. I doubt the officials caused a five TD swing.

The final component is the Harris poll which isn't out yet. Unless Oklahoma St. does what they didn't do in the Coaches poll and jump into #2 in that poll it's going to be Alabama in the title game by a razor thin margin.

I'd forgotten all about it but Howard Schnellenberger coached his final game yesterday. He's best known for engineering the Miami Hurricanes dynasty, coaching the Canes from 1979-1983 and leading them to the 1983 national title. Unfortunately he made the colossal mistake of leaving the Canes to coach a USFL team that then relocated, leaving him without a team to coach.

He went on to coach 10 seasons at Louisville with no real success. His last 11 season were spent at Florida Atlantic where he had a mediocre 58-74 record. This season FAU had an awful 1-11 record. Really is too bad he left the Canes. Had he stayed I don't think there's much doubt he'd be recognized in the same league with the all-time great college coaches and probably have several national titles.
