TBH, it didn't really bother me since she was just a side character that just stood around doing nothing.
Unlike with Bryan Cranston in 2014. That was unforgivable.
In theory, I have no issue with character deaths as portrayed by favourite actors so long as it's dramatically earned. Her exit was so brief and callous that frankly it came across as Dougherty not understanding who he had to work with. If anything, Bryan's demise in 2014 does not bother me at all (his character arc of discovery was effectively over come the MUTO awakening in my book) but the focus should have leaned in my opinion entirely on Watanabe and Hawkins' characters rather than Taylor-Johnson (also what Dougherty should've done with KOTM instead of Kyle Chandler's mad dad energy overriding them) who try as he might, just does not quite gel.

Spectre's visuals during the opening are beautiful but that song really clashes.

LOL. Yeah, when the camera was on them for about 3 seconds and if the scene wasn't too dark!
Also, as I said before:

Actually, I’ve been seeing more people say it’s crap. Where as I personally take it and 3 over 1.

Personally, I love the film. It's very different from the other films and original.
What you said does sum up my feeling towards Freddy's Revenge though.

See I love Freddy's Revenge haha. It's definitely goofy and nonsensical but I find that to be a part of its charm.

I just found it to be stupid.
Like, Freddy has the power to enter people's dreams and kill them wherever he is. From the ending of the first film, it's implied that he can't be stopped at all, so why would he want to give up his invincibility by taking control of some guy's body?

Freddy's Revenge is the best of the Elm Street sequels. It took approx 30 years for it to be respected, but the gays won in the end.

After 15 or 20 of them, you just kept on hoping the next one would be good?

WOW!

That's dedication! I'm impressed.

Fully agree. People can hate Edward's film all they want but as a diehard Godzilla fan that was a love letter to the franchise. So many great shots and scenes in this film as you already mentioned and I chuckle at how many people complain they couldn't "see" the fights. Time to see an optometrist since the scenes weren't that dark.

Revenge has its merits but still think Dream Warriors is the best sequel. You get more Nancy, that song, and the pure cheese.

My biggest problem with the film wasn't that it wasn't that the fight scenes were "too dark". It was killing off Bryan Cranston's character and focusing on Aaron-Plank Johnson. If the whole movie was focused on Bryan's character, the film would have been received more positively.

Your post sums up my feelings about KOTM though.
