I agree whole-heartedly Miker. I used to have an older Elite Pioneer AVR and I do remember that the power it put out did tend to accentuate the sound quality at lower volumes. I was refering to my "apples to apples" comparision using the same receiver on both sets of speakers. I did notice a difference between speakers in that case.

Yep, I also notice the difference between my LCR and RC-10's for sure, especially in the mid to low end range. It was very obvious the first time I hooked up my RC-LCR when I first got it. I played some music through the LCR to break it in and the difference between it and the RC-10's were noticable, obviously due to the extra mid range drivers on the LCR.

However, I think the RC-10's hold there own pretty well, especially for movies. Without a doubt the LCR's are an improvement though, and I will probably end up with a couple of them for the front L/R channels and move my 10's to the rear in the end, but for now I'm extremely happy with their performance.

On my quest on finding a center for my C-9, a energy rep told me the CC-10 would work just fine..any thoughts? I heard the CC-10 Yesterday @ BB mag store, and it sounded very good to my ears

Maybe it would but it's not the ultimate best match I would try to find a C-C3 or the C-C1 not an easy task I understand but hey really up to you, you can give it atry and bring it back if you don't like the result.

Yeah the C-C3 would be the best and newer does not mean better of course it's newer the speaker is from a newer line.

As I said give it a shot you have nothing to lose you just bring it back if it does not match well with the C9.

Any insiders or anyone else know where Energy is heading these days? On their website we have entry level CF speakers and their best of the line Veritas. There's nothing in between to replace the RC series? Center speaker selection isn't much better. I guess we can thank Klipsch for this.
Klipsch's namesake has a vast selection to choose from. Is Energy on the way out? Really sad if you ask me.

I know. How many speaker lines does Klipsch have of their own. I was just wandering this the other day. I bet Klipsch ultimately wants to do away with Energy because they feel Energy makes a better sounding speaker. Im sure Klipsch doesn't want that even though they own them.

Klipsch doesn't want to get rid of Energy. Energy has a huge name in the industry and a large following. Maybe not as big as Klipsch, but if you look around, most Klipsch dealers now sell Energy and vice versa, and Energy was put into Best Buy to fullfill Klipsch's obligation to BB. The Klipsch speakers that were BB Mag. weren't selling as expected and BB wanted something else, so they offered up the CF line, which seems to be doing a lot better.

The RC line was replaced by the Veritas line. If anything Energy should put out a 2-way tower with a single 6.5" woofer and call it the V6.1 for a price of $1500/pr, but I doubt that will happen. Energy has typically only had about 2 line of speakers running at a time, so this isn't unusual. Before it was the Veritas and the Connoisuers. Then the C-series and RC-series, now the CF series(aka the Connoisuers) and the Veritas(again)

Not to forget API had Athena as their entry level speakers and Mirage also so they had variety.

Thanks, Callas. I wasn't really aware of what Energy was doing. That clears it up then. I knew you would know.

Interesting comment that they should put out a 2-way tower with a single 6.5" woofer. There's something about the quality of the sound that I like from single driver instead of multiple driver 2-way towers that gives them a unique sound. Of course you know what I am talking about. My old C-300 towers. I learned the hardway after buying some towers having dual 6.5" woofers to replace the C-300s. However, I recently ditched the new towers. Dual woofers didn't do it for me. I still have the C-300s and I love them. I also bought a used C-C100 I found on e-bay. I am totally back with Energy. I love Energy's sound. Plain and simple. I would love to buy an Energy V6.1 if it did in fact exist for only $1200/pair. That would be the ultimate 2-way tower for me. Then I would use the C-300s for side surrounds. For now, the C-300s are keepers.

The C-500 2.5 way speaker you would have loved it truly depends on speaker design to but I know 2 way works well with transient and this one of the rteasons Callas and I did not hesitate to actually buy some very good Monitor speakers.

You got a point I would have had to spend close to double in the Staff and more than double for the Hawk or the X32

I should be able to sell off some of my old car audio gear within the next week or so. I have a couple of prospective buyers. I plan on using the proceeds from the sale toward upgrading my sub. I had settled on the HSU, but now I'm considering spending a little bit extra and getting an outlaw. Right now my 2 considerations are between the HSU VTF-2 MK 3 or the Outlaw LFM-1 Plus. I'm now starting to lean toward the higher powered Outlaw.

They actually do have very similar specs and loo alike plus you have the extra 50 watts but it's 40$ more but honestly I don't think you would notice that much of a difference and i am thinking at this point it's a win win situation, no considerable pros ad cons one vs another.

I didn't even notice there was a list of owners and what they had in the first post

The energy products I have are a pair of RC-50s, a pair of RC-10s, a pair of CB-5s, and a single RC-LCR.

Yes, it's a tough call on this one Olivier. From what I've read I can't go wrong on either one. They are very similar in a lot of ways, but like you mention, I'm not sure if the additional power will really add anything to the sound quality in the long run.
Oh, Olivier, I just checked, and there is 100 watts difference between them. The Outlaw is rated at 350 RMS and the HSU at 250 RMS.

Dr. Hsu designed the Outlaw sub, that is why they use similar plate amps and woofers. Either way youre basically getting a Hsu Sub.
