That's why I added the spoiler. The look on Robert Downey jr's face makes it worse(or better).

What's happening Cliff?

Pretty much all Spielberg films on blu-ray sound great. Close Encounters is amazing, especially considering it came out 35 years ago. Minority Report sounds great too. I also have Hanna. I almost put it on that list. I've never seen a movie that incorporates the movie sounds into the soundtrack like that one does. The music in that one is almost ridiculous.

Not much Joe, just relaxing after work, watching the Simpsons on tv. Yeah I agree, the music in Hanna was great. I need to pick up the soundtrack to that as well as Tron: Legacy. The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk did a great job with those scores.

Good Afternoon Russ.

It took me two days to get my setup working right, but now everything is great. Last night I started off with Stanley Clarke and Friends - Live at the Greek CD. I played around with the different modes like Pure, Stereo, and some surround modes too. Then I watched Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense, David Gilmour - Remember That Night, and Rush - Time Machine.

Last night was concert night, so tonight will be movie night. I'm going to finish off the last two episodes of Band of Brothers(really great show so far), then probably an action or sci-fi movie or two. Something with great sound for sure. I might even throw on the train crash scene from Super 8.

The only thing I've changed after running Audyssey is raising the crossovers of the front and center speakers from 40hz to 70hz. I will probably compare 70hz to 80hz tonight to see which sounds better. I'm really amazed at the clarity, and the overall soundfield seems much more three-dimensional and engulfing. At one point last night, I turned it up to reference level for just about 30 seconds, and it still sounded completely clean and clear with no harshness, clipping, compression, or distortion like I would get from my Sony at that level, but damn was it loud! From the three concert BDs I watched last night, it seems like -12db~-14db is a nice robust but comfortable level.

With my old Sony receiver, I had my BA sub gain set at about 1:00 and my AA sub set at about 2:30. When I ran the sub level balancing test, it had me set them both around 9:00 to achieve 72db from each, so I was expecting them to be much, much quieter, but they really don't seem to be, for some reason. They blend so much better with each other, and with the other speakers than before, and their overall response is so incredibly smooth and deep. It honestly sounds like I upgraded my subwoofers.

So far, the two major improvements that I've noticed is the overall clarity all around, but especially in the center channel, and the smoothness and depth of my subs. I can also feel them a lot more now than I did before.

Those were some excellent choices for shakin your system down . And I'm soooooooo happy you're satisfied with your purchase

I bet you can't wait until the weekend to really give your system a good workout

Hey Joe, I'm glad that the upgrade was worth it. You be careful now with Super 8.

That's what I've been doing, relaxing.

Actually I've been working on the weekend as much, or more than during the week. One day is the same as another to me, unless I have to work. I don't have a set schedule, it's different every week, but I've been working a lot less over last couple of weeks, which is good and bad.

I just finished the last two episodes of Band of Brothers. The fighting was pretty much over, so there was lots of dialog, and I still just can't get over the clarity of my setup with the new receiver.

What's up Al?

So far, I'm very happy with my setup. I think I might hold off on Super 8 tonight. But on the other hand....

Actually, I didn't tweak one damn thing at all while watching Band of Brothers. I just sat there smiling like an idiot the whole time.

I think I'm going to go watch another movie.

Yes I am.

Thanks again for all of your help Tommy.

I'm about to go watch Inception.

I doubt that you'll still be up by the time it's over, so have a great night.

See ya.

I was actually studying up some more about Audyssey over at AVS, and just came back over here before going to bed, and saw that you just posted about 4 minutes ago. I guess you're just getting up? I'm just heading to bed. I gotta quit staying up all night.

Have a wonderful day Russ!

No, I don't play the lottery. I thought that you would've won it by now.

If I did play, and won, I would have a 'Hobbit House' built into the side of a big hill two levels down, and the lower underground level would be completely soundproofed and split in half. One side would be one of the best home theaters in the world, and the other half would be a world class recording studio. There would also be a slightly smaller room in between the others with a full professional bar and a pool table, darts, pinball machine, etc. The upstairs would look just like Bag End (Bilbo's house).

I'm pretty sure that it will never happen, but with it underground it would also be cool in the summer, and warm in the winter, so I could save on electricity.
