Hey all question: when I am considering purchasing new clothes, is there a way to compare the stats of what I am wearing with what I am considering? I see no simple option of comparing equipped with new item?

Level 50 dam I'm only 16 !! I'm not to far in the game.there two bosses in the first level?

There are two bosses in the first level. I beat Cleric Beast in the first try at my base level. The second boss is really hard.


After the billionth try, I just beat the first Hunter. Did not even reach the machine gunner yet. All I got was bone marrow ash. I probably have nearly 20,000 echoes, though, from all of the tries, and I might just go spend the before advancing. The hunter can be parried, but I only got the timing once.

I have to say I like souls better with its more methodical approach to exploration and combat. I can see why some would prefer this, though. I think this is a lot harder.

Yeah my mind went right there too. He says something like "you can do whatever you like to her" in a creepy raper voice.

For the tough bosses, I usually just ring the bell - so much easier with two

Just hit lvl 30 today. Still trying to beat the 2nd boss. Tried 3 times already and came very very close my 3rd. Just a few more hits and I would have one if he didn't keep coming after me and gave me just a second to heal.

Ludwigs sword is pretty awesome!

Knocked out the Vicar, and now I've awakened the third headstone. This area is gonna knock me for a loop, I can tell. I may go around farming gemstones to upgrade my equipment first. I'm gonna need much better defense.

I was at level 13 when I tried the first boss.

I probably could have killed the beast. I found an area where the boss can't touch you but you can it.. for a good 30 seconds.

The other boss I have not got to yet but I think there are 2 in the first level.

Gamma posted something above about a certain item, but it takes a bunch of other stuff, too, to get some armor. I tried violence for a while and failed, because I did not own the Blunderbuss. Then I bought the Blunderbuss, and it took a second. It's usually better not to kill guys, if you don't have to, as long as you can still get their item somehow.

My guess is, because of the difficulty without cheese, it is supposed to be done the outfit way. Something that could get patched, for sure.

About the special item for this fight:

[Show spoiler]I did not find the music box to be very helpful, by the way. It seemed to make the monster transformation occur earlier.

I didn't use Molitovs, just don't get greedy with your attacks. Land one hit when able, then dodge away. You can rarely get in more then one hit safely. Also use your surroundings to your advantage. When he is about to do a heavy attack, move behind an object so that he hits it. Also a gun parry and follow up does huge damage.

His attacks destroy tombstones and those obstacles are just as much a liability as an asset when trying to evade, so I went to the upper deck after he transformed. I tried numerous times but could not find the timing to parry the monster form. But at least I know it can be done now.

He didn't destroy the tombstones on me. I mostly used the trees though. I didn't use lock on either which may have changed things. I didn't parry the monster form. At that stage you have to stay on the move and wait for a chance to get single hits in. Or you could buy some Molotovs I guess.

remember, an Oil Urn/Molotov combo is far more effective than just a Molotov. You can stun lock most bosses that way.

Taking on Dark Beast Paarl now. Hopefully it goes well. He's my sixth boss.

So far, Gasciogne's armor set is the most effective for me. Use insight to pick it up when you have a chance.

The Threaded Cane and Ludwigs Sword are my two right hand weapons. Blunderbuss and the fire thing are my left hand weapons.
