Probably to re-render all scenes with more light. If that's so, we can wait.

Thumbs up

Of course, I'm disappointed as a fan. But the studio took a bath on Godzilla: KotM. If they need the extra time to improve the film, and better position it for success, I'm all for it. I want this to be a hit, so that the MonsterVerse can continue.

WB has had some success retooling the DC brand, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm certainly rooting for them!

There's not a lot of competition right now for next November, Eternals and this are the two biggest right now.

Betcha when this comes out, he'll say this is awful and suddenly praise the heck out of KOTM (which he currently says is awful).

Lol, not a chance. Underworld is still complaining about Godzilla (2014) five years later.

Honestly, I'm also quite disappointed about such an extensive delay. A whole year to wait is going to crawl along. My expectations for the film have dropped to 'Pretty Low', especially with my gut feeling that this'll be the last installment. This coming from someone that despite a few reservations, found KOTM to be almost their ideal U.S. studio Godzilla film; 2014 still remains my pick of the current trio however.

Personally, I think Godzilla: King of the Monsters is by far the best Godzilla movie ever made.

So now that it's delayed 8 months we have to deal with the nonsense posts that plague basically every thread.

I hope you aren't talking about the old ones with the rubber suits or the cartoons. I guess Godzilla is going to have to beat Kong, otherwise he isn't really the king of monsters.

Delayed to November 20th, that's 8 months, what are they doing, re-shooting the whole movie!

Zero chance of that happening...KOTM was a stinker.

There goes any chance of getting the UHD cheap by Black Friday 2020.

Yeah, maybe minor tweaks to the movie, but I think this is more about marketing and release date. They likely wanted to get more room rather than release less than a year after King of the Monsters, as well as possibly rethink their marketing plans (after KotM flopped, people were already suspecting this might get pushed back).
