Funny, I was looking so closely at V’s transfer earlier that I noticed a weird filming artifact in the loft scene with Rocky and Adrian. In the close-ups where Rocky is in silhouette, there’s a weird doubling effect on Rocky’s face, like an outline of his face that echoes as he moves. It sort of reminded me of those ghosting artifacts on the OG Trek transfers or that weird DV error on the beach flags in Jaws. So I threw in my BD and, heh, apparently it happened in camera because it was there, too. Surprised I never noticed it. Also, wow…that BD really looks like a** now. The 4K isn’t going to win any awards for being sharp as a tack, but it certainly looks like film.

well i guess because the new boxset is so high amazon right now i think prob won't get it am not a fan of wanted to do a 1 time signature mess so that's the goal if wb no replacement discs before end of the month i either do walmart with a gift card bring price down i do have a 25 promo walmart gift card in email i can used after i get walmart gift card of somesort i don't know 60, 80

or gruv on ebay<-if still have it to order since cheap don't want to pay full price bullmoose

I'm really surprised nothing has popped up yet for us. I think I'll hold on a little longer, but yeah import might be the only way.

Always loved Rocky V! Sorry if this has been stated already, but are you able to confirm that Rocky II and the other issues that plagued the previous set have been corrected now? I passed on the last set and would really like to purchase this one. Thanks in advance.

I even resorted to Gruv on this one (and made sure to order 4 other things with it to get it in a box - that slipcase shockingly arrived in perfect condition). I've primarily ordered from Bullmoose for years, but as the market for physical media must continue to shrink, the pricing keeps climbing. For some of this stuff, we're almost at laserdisc pricing again. I've known that's where this was headed, but I sure have to pause now when I see what I'm paying (especially for some of these blind buys). Of course, with Gruv I threw on that e-mail sign-up discount code as well. I don't know that I'd normally try them since I'm too picky about condition. Too bad they don't normally package better given how early they ship, too.

I did go straight to Rocky Balboa and was pleased. Seemed like there was some minor aliasing at times in the "HBO" video-based segment that I'd imagine has always been there, but I otherwise thought it looked pretty good.

I wish I had Rocky Balboa as burned into my brain as Rocky 1-4 to have detected all the changes. Was this really just the DVD-era thing WB/Sony would do where they'd just stick deleted scenes into the movie? I'm sure I had seen the deleted scenes before, so while I think I did get most of the "this didn't used to be part of the movie" right, they still seemed familiar enough where I wasn't totally sure.... I did think it all worked, though! There wasn't anything that felt extraneous to me.

The final fight was shot by HBO cameras that were there for another fight. It was done for budgetary reasons.

People seem to forget that Stallone was a laughing stock for trying to push a Rocky 6. Rocky Balboa basically created the legacy sequel (The Color of Money doesn't count).

Hello, this is my first time posting here. I just wanted to let anyone else that might be wondering like me, that the digital code won't work on Vudu/Fandango until the release date next Tuesday.

I seriously don’t know why so many people are balking at the price of this set. It’s still, as of right now, $89.99 at GRUV. If you register a new email with them, you’ll get 20% off, which makes it $72 with free shipping. That’s $12 a film, with all the errors corrected and two cuts of two of the films. I really think some people around here ONLY check Amazon.

Mine came into today. Light scratch on Rocky Balboa (hopefully no playback issues) and a lot of oily substance in the case and on the discs.

GRUV indeed has some pretty good deals so I check them out often.

The off gassing residue will come off easy with a microfiber cloth.
