Awesome line-up. I am in for the bundle.

I am SO happy to finally see some classical Japanese ghost stories being released outside the canonical usual suspects (Ugetsu, Onibaba, Kwaidan et al.). I hope it sells well enough for them to do more. A dream release would be some of the titles released on English-friendly Japanese DVDs by Happinet. I believe some of them have been re-released on BD i Japan. I don't know how Shintoho are about licensing, though.

The only minor drawback to me is the design of the box. I am not to keen on its airbrushed quality, especially not considering the very cool-looking sleeves in the set.

At least they're usually quicker than Amazon at listing these. When I've asked labels why their titles aren't on Amazon yet, they usually can't give me an answer because they say they submitted them on or before announcement, so it's Amazon slacking (and missing out on sales as a result, but I doubt they care that much).

The Japanese Gothic box set looks amazing. I've gotten into a lot more Japanese cinema in the last year thanks to Radiance.

On a hunch, I decided to cross-reference my search with Janus Films, and surprisingly got a hit. There is a phantom page at their site for the title

https://www.janusfilms.com/films/list?search=I+Vampiri

Orbit is teasing Haxan coming soon to pre-order. Oddly enough, they have all of them but it up for pre-order right now. I already have the Criterion but I'm double-dipping and getting this version too. Between the packaging, book, and more cuts/scores to choose from, its impossible to resist!

I want to give a special shout-out to T4ffer for first uncovering hints of the Daiei Ghost films last September, in the most insane way possible. Rapta, and myself helped uncover some of the other backwards writing too, but T4ffer really got the ball rolling.

I don't know what those notes on the other side of the paper are, it could be random things not related to what Radiance is releasing, but it seems to say

Bride from Hades 1968 - Satsuo Yamamoto on one line.

Some of it I can't make out and the rest is repeating existing releases.

[edit]
I think I can also make out the word "Haunted" on the first line so the whole thing is like

Haunted **** 1968(?) <xxx>
Bride from Hades 1968 Satsuo Yamamoto
<too weak trace to read>

2023 * Radiance *

Working Class Goes to Heaven
Big Time Gambling Boss
Miami Blues

Thanks. I wonder if that well hidden hint was intentional or an accident on Fran’s part well seems next time he was more careful

I wondered where the hint was from; excellent detective work!

I wonder if they have something big planned for #100.

I don’t have the German release of Nero Veneziano, no.

I have an awful suspicion that Shameless Films will be responsible for the UK Blu-ray of Laughing Windows. They have a track record of releasing Italian big hitters (Suspiria, Dellamorte, Opera, Sette note in nero, Footprints).

Interested in all of them but wavering on Häxan. Looks an incredible coup for Radiance but particularly terrifying. Think it is that silent film thing.

Turn the volume down on the disc and play Aqua's Barbie Girl on a loop while you watch it.

For anyone happy that Roberto Curti has an essay in the I VAMPIRI release, be aware that McFarland will probably have Curti's giant book on Riccardo Freda discounted during their usual November sale just a few weeks after the disc streets.

Think I've decided I'll definitely pre-order Häxan, Daiei Gothic and Dogra Magra, but might leave I vampiri for another time. As always, I might cave within a week or two of release...we'll see.

As with Indicator, I'm trying to not pre-order absolutely everything so that I can pick stuff up in the sales; but I also don't want to miss out on most LE titles, so will have to keep an eye on stock updates.

Any ideas? Perhaps it could be the Buñuel title (maybe even a box set)?

Would love some of the following:

Millennium Mambo
The Player
Moving
Charisma
Johnny Got His Gun
Demon Pond
Mamma Roma
Eureka
The Mattei Affair
Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors
Intentions of Murder
Pistol Opera
Bellissima
Manji
Battle in Heaven
Cruel Tale of Bushido
The Eel
La Caza
A Confucian Confusion
Tokyo Twilight
The Man from Majorca
The Sacrifice

Anyone having issues logging onto the Radiance site?

Yesterday I couldn't get it to accept a sign in and the Forgot My Password link took me to a 404.

Today, I can try sign in but none of my usual passwords work, and when I put my email into the Forgot My Password page, I never receive the change password email, even in Spam or Junk.

I find almost everything rapta suggested looks good enough for the #100 yet not big enough at the same time, only because, to me, every 'ordinary' Radiance announcement has been amazing already. I mean, Millennium Mambo for #100? Yeah! What a great choice! But does it feel particularly bigger or more significant than the other 99 releases before that? Absolutely not.

This label has given me a lot already and will keep doing so, so for that #100, I don't even want something for me. Instead, I'd love to see Fran being selfish, releasing something a bit risky for the business yet he just can't resist.
