Indeed... it actually made me snort with laughter in the theater.
IMO with the exception of Anne Hathaway and maybe Tom Hardy the performances were horribly dull.

He did do a great Connery impression!

I'm not the one who said "you think it was better than Anna Karenina, a period piece" thanks for the blanket statement.

Are you aware of what Bane wears? Easily one of the best costumes ever.

That post seemed pretty clear to me... if you feel a film deserves to be nominated in a category then it must be clearly better than another film in that category

I asked an obvious question, which was already explained and answered.

Not a Batman fanboy. And yes the costume design for Bane was enough for a nomination. IMO.

Bane's costume is really nothing that you couldn't put together by going to your local military surplus store, aside from the mask and vest And the vest isn't really that complicated. It looks cool, not to take anything away from those that worked on it, but it's far from being one of the "best costumes ever."

Of course I've seen the movie. It was good, not great. And Bane's costume? It was: a muzzle, and flak jacket, khakis, combat boots, and nice cozy coat for colder temperatures. How is this Oscar worthy again?

Exaxtly, that's something you can make yourself, and like the millions of others who have already done do.

Yeah. Dresses and suits from a certain time period deserve it more.

Quite frankly yes, and I know I'll like TDKR much more than Anna Karenina(when I see it)!

Edit: Post #6000 wooohooo!

But I would think the Acdemy chose Anna becuase ALL the costumes had to be made based on historic reference, whereas Bane just needed a few items thrown together. Not that complicated really, which is why the Acdemy went the direction they did.
You just don't see it. You think it's just a suit that a bunch of kids could do. Linda Hemming, the production designer based it off of different military outfits from regions around the world. And ever single piece of his suit was designed to fit him as a character. Old weapon parts for his mask, different materials that could be found. Like anyone could do that... But you're Mr.

Yeah, pretty much, any costume designer could do that. It's not that hard....really.

Once again, the question isn't whether the costume design is good, but whether it is better than the other nominees.
I haven't seen most of them, so I can't comment.

Wow. You haven't even seen it and can't and don't know what goes into making a film.

It was."because I'm a fanboy" and that makes my opinion not matter.

I can tell from the trailer that Anna is more deserving of a costume nomination than TDKR. It's just that simple.
