Yeah, those I do want, and once Upon a time in the west.

It looks like Anchor Bay/Starz is releasing a "restored" version of Halloween in August on DVD. I don't know what 'restored" means. Could they be preparing a Blu-ray version. I wish they would release them at the same time. Also, this one ticks me off. They are releasing a boxed set with all 13 episodes of Masters of Horror season 1 plus a 14th disc of extras for $80! Let me see. I paid about $10 each for them individually for a total of $130! It doesn't seem like alot when you only pay $10 each for them, but when you combine them... Anyway, I hope the Blu-ray would be coming out around the same time too. They said they would be releasing them before the end of the year.

http://www.dvdreview.com/news/ Looks like there is some good stuff coming.
Some more details about the Starz Blu-Ray titles

As reported here some time ago, Starz Home Entertainment and their label Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the first season of Masters Of Horror on Blu-Ray Disc in September. We have been able to uncover some more details about the release that you will find interesting.
The release will consist of 4 BD-50 discs containing all the 15 season 1 episodes in 1080p high definition video. Currently plans are to provide uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio tracks with the release but that may change, depending on the storage availability on the final discs. The set will also contain some – though not all – of the bonus materials found on the individual DVD releases of the episodes.
In addition to “Masters Of Horror” we have heard mention of another number of Blu-Ray titles from Anchor Bay, scheduled for Halloween. Look out for announcements of John Carpenter’s Halloween, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead II and George A. Romero’s Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead to be released on Blu-Ray some time in September or early October.

Wonder why no Evil Dead I. It may not be HD worthy.

I wonder how well the orginal Dawn of The Dead will look in High Def? I'll wait for reviews before I buy.If I buy the Blu-Ray version this will be like my 5th time buying this movie-I have it on VHS,2 copies on Laserdisc, and the recent Ultimate Edition release on DVD.

I probably would buy it anyway. I did have it on VHS and on VHS that was two tapes and Laserdisc and then also on DVD twice, because the first editon from Anchor bay was a flipper, half the movie was on one side the other half on the other.

Well as its negative is 16mm (isn't its composed OAR 1.37 too?), I'd think it might not be used as a showcase for Starz first 1080p Discs.

It may just be a case of licensing. Raimi owns the rights to Evil Dead 1, and perhaps the agreement needs to be re-upped.

Starz will distribute through MGM (who distributes through 20th Century Fox), but it appears they have full control on disc development. Anchor Bay has one of the largest catalogs of classic horror films, so expect some quality releases from them soon.
Clearly Fox needs to be distributing if they are releasing these.
