I'm just glad I brought out the fellow Indy 4 lovers. Even if we're supposed to be talking about V...whatever.

You did great

OT I still wish they went to a sort of father/son journey like Last Crusade, with Atlantis as the back drop.

Bring on Indy V!
You watched Indy 4... and the style of motorcycle is what you had a problem with..........

I thought the last one was pretty decent. Nothing amazing but surely some fun.

The second one, in my opinion was the weakest in the series; Indy IV kept itself old-fashioned, and really authentic, which is why it's better than Indy II, and about three quarters as good as Indy I and III.

You're going to need more than that in here as we've pretty well established this as a Indy 4 love thread. Respectfully, what did you not like about the film?

It may be to newcomers to Indy, but IMO Indy IV can't compare to Raiders (or Temple or Last Crusade). I saw Raiders back when it premiered. It was the first time I attended a movie where the audience cheered and clapped and was in awe of the fun and excitement. The opening 'cave scene' was unbelievable. It set the tone and the excitement never let up. At the end, everyone in the theater, including me and my date, stood up and clapped. That's how big this movie was and set a precedent for movies to follow. It was totally new and original. Indy IV had none of the excitement. In fact, IMO little in IV was original at all (other than the ridiculous refrigerator scene). I found it boring.

BTW -- Temple of Doom was dark -- Spielberg admits that he had gone through a tough divorce prior to filming and recognized that he applied his then current outlook into the movie. He returned to the original, lighter mode in Last Crusade, apparently much happier after marrying Kate Capshaw.

Dude I don't understand your logic in this. Between loving KOTCS and not enjoying TDK It's just crazy.

Temple of Doom did fit in my opinion, yeah a heart was pulled out of some guys chest but it fits in with the mythology and black magic thats associated with discovery. You could say the same about aliens, but that's a bit on the sci-fi side which is a completely different genre to me.

Temple of doom is vastly underrated.

How much time do you have...?

It'd be easier to tell you what was 'right' with the movie. The only answer to that is the following:

The closing credits.

Good news being that Spielberg Cracked the story. Maybe Steve told George, okay, we'll make yours first then if we'll make mine.

That's what gives me hope for this. Hopefully Spielberg took the reigns on this one and his "heart will be in this one," although that was only one problem with KOTCS. Also hoping that Indy will have something to do instead of just following everybody else around.
