Default "The Descent 2" Plot Revealed

Courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting...

Quote:
"THE DESCENT 2 picks up immediately after the events depicted in THE DESCENT

Sarah (MacDonald), emerges alone from a cave system following an expedition with her five friends in the Appalachian mountains. Distraught, injured and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Skeptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines forces her back into the caves to help locate the rest of the group.

Trapped by falling rocks, the rescue party are driven deep into the caverns, and as one by one the fate of the missing girls is revealed, Sarah is forced to confront her deepest fears."

The official press release here.

I have to admit that we thought the first one was scary. Now, I'm not sure it needed a sequel, but this plot line sounds pretty thin. (Not that the first one had a really thick plot.)

I was reading about this last week on IMDB. I think they should have just left off where the first one ended. I think that was the perfect ending for a movie like that. This sequel will almost certainly ruin the experience of the first movie.

No NEIL MARSHALL directing = losing a lot of my interest. Marshall is a visionary director who I enjoy very much. Jon Harris has zero directing credits. He has been an editor on a lot of good films though. I will give it a shot but I will go in with low expectations.

That bothers me a little as well and
[Show spoiler]makes the "false" ending part pointless. I loved the way they led us to believe she had survived only to take all of that away. So, I'd rather that she didn't survive and the search party just ends up having to deal with the creatures as they try to find them (if they want to do a sequel)
.

Because, moviemaking is a business first and foremost (unfortunately), thus whatever makes even the slighest bit of money is probably going to get at least one sequel, if not more.

SPOILER ALERT! PLEASE BYPASS THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DESCENT AND PLAN TO IN THE FUTURE.

OK so I read the synopsis at the link provided and this is truly a dumb idea. They're going back in to find the survivors of the group??? There were no damn survivors!! All of the cast is back to reprise their roles??? How is this possible if they all died??? Why in the world would the main character even agree to go back with a search party? You'd have to drag me kicking and screaming to get me to go back into those caves.

This is such a bad idea and the all of the elements that made the first one so successful as a horror movie no longer exists therefore the scare factor just won't be there in the sequel.

Truly a bad idea.

I'll just pretend that it's not happening. Way to spoil a good movie.

The first one was good, but Neil Marshal needs to stick with making his own movies {Dog Soldiers and Descent} and stop mixing movies that we've all seen before {Robin Hood, Aliens, Mad Max} into one movie {Doomsday}

Haha. That was "The Ruins". Oddly enough, i mistake the two repeatidly as well. They're totally different movies in almost every way... beyond the fact that they both sucked.

Seriously. ...im amazed anybody liked The Decent. If your friend was going through pain and asked you to kill her, would you REALLY do it by picking up a rock and bashing her face in!? I dont know... The Decent just seemed stupid to me. Terible animation on thoe creatures as well.

Whatever though. My opinion is different fom other people's. As usual...
The Decent 2 will suck even worse though im sure. :/

But anyway, You are mixing the 2 movies up like i always do.
