There was a rumor for a while that Rihanna and Jay-Z were getting it on. This was a few years ago when she first got her record deal. I can see how he would be protective of her.

Then theres also the fact that if Jay-Z keeps the artists on his label from having anything to do with BET, that would be a huge blow to them.

Chris Brown needs to lay low for a couple years. Time heals wounds. But I'm surprised Usher didnt show up.

I think he is in London or somewhere overseas doing some shows. I saw him on Larry King Live on Friday via satellite with Liza Minelli. Talk about an odd pairing.

I agree with this. Chris can probably put out songs and maybe an album but he needs to stay off the TV and award shows for a while. Maybe in that time some other scandal will come up where he can sort of be forgotten or he can do something really positive that puts him back in good graces with people.

I don't even think that would help him at this point!

I think people need to consider another thing here. What if Jay-Z telling BET to keep Chris Brown off the show had nothing to do with Rhianna? Sure everyone is going to assume that cause what else could it be right? Well, no one can be certain until Jay-Z says it himself. It is very well possible that they had an altercation the night before over a song, one cut the other one off trying to move around on the highway, or maybe Chris Brown got the last water bottle in the corner store they were both at, who knows. The fact is, Jay-Z used his status to push BET into making that decision, and that's really unfair of him to do, cause what if it was the other way around? I'm sure he wouldn't like it either.

word, I mean Jay is past his prime....old and wack now. His voice cracks, he's always whispering on tracks for some weird ass reason....dont know why he still has so much pull in the industry. He cant even get a release date for BP3 at this point, and even when it does come out, he's not going platinum in this economy.

Screw Chris Brown. Jay-Z is like the Michael Jordan of Hip-Hop. Why shouldn't he have some influence on this matter. BET thought it was more important to have Jay-Z perform so it was a decision that they made and I respect that decision. I would've like to see Chris go to jail and become an inmate's pet.

I sort of agree with this. I have never been a huge Jay Z fan. He came along right after Biggie and 2Pac died and greatly benefitted. Unlike this two his style is not distinct in my opinion. 2Pac was the militant gangsta and Biggie was the playa and storyteller. Jay Z is kind of just there for me. He doesn't have anything that separates him and puts him in a class by himself in my opinion. I mean look at his CD's and they all have the same style, same sound over the years and have gotten worse over the years.

Did Jay Z beat the crap out of a girl? You can do hypothetical's all day. But Jay Z didn't, that POS Chris Brown did. He's lucky that he isn't in jail where he deserves to be.

agreed. Its not a coincidence Jay didnt get the same amount of shine he got in 98 prior to Pac's/BIG's death(s). I just dont like the way these publications and online blogs go out of their way to rewrite history for this guy. Calling Reasonable Doubt an instant classic smash hit....please. Anyone who was 15 and up in 1996 knows thats an outright lie. But thats another thread.

Everyone that has tried has ended up dead or rolling with him.

My friend did a photoshoot for WC once and after the shoot WC was on the phone and was like "That was Suge, he's on his way right now."

That was the fastest he ever packed up his gear.

Someone actually knocked Suge Knight out a few months back. There are pictures of him dazed on the net with blood on his jacket.

I don't know what happened to the guy who did it, but he did KO Suge.

I don't know how many watch it anymore but i do know i watch it sometimes for vids since mtv lacks music videos and has too much pointless shows now. As for Jay-Z stepping in i'm glad he did.
