Word. Really loved Indy IV. 2nd best of the series, right behind Raiders.

Not sure what sorta story I'd love to see though. If Spielburg hadn't done Jurassic Park, a Lost World type of story would have been pretty cool. Hmm, this'll take some thought.

I wish they would just let this once-great franchise rest in peace. Necromancing it from its grave for a second time is just cruel.

Would like to see a Shipwrecked lost island treasure theme and then he finds Amelia Earhart and they have babies.

So today was the day to break out the "Necromancing"! How long have you waited?

All kidding aside, I like your shipwrecked AND Amelia Earhart (minus the babies) idea.

I enjoyed Indy IV.

I say that first because at this point, they are really going to have to put out all the stops to to convince me this is gonna be any good. Not because of the fourth one. It's more a matter of:

Well-
I didn't hate KOTCS as much as many...there were things I hated, but I liked having more Indy better than none! I hope if they do end up filming on pt.5 they at least bring a little more closure and "End" it!

I say re-visit the Lost City of Atlantis idea they once mused. Give Indy a good eye injury to set-up the now "missing" old man version of him from Young Indy Jones...and hopefully leave on a real high-note!!!

And this time when Speilberg says their shooting it old-school with little/no CGI...STICK TO IT!!!

there's no way Lucas will ever allow an Indy movie to be made without it being saturated with CGI. Dont even begin to believe Spielberg when he says that. He might try to top the stupid CGI gophers/prairie dogs in Indy IV and throw in a 2 minute opening shot of a CGI lemur doing nothing...just sitting there. Why? Because he CAN, thats why.

You know you can just not watch it, and people who want a 5th (including me) get their wish

its the principle of it. Its not even about giving you a timeless adventure now. Its strictly a giant payday for all parties involved. Harrison still has it. Even at his age, he's still the only Indiana Jones I'd ever accept. But I question Lucas and Spielberg's desire to make the best movie possible. I just see this as milking the proverbial cow at this point.

Psst. They did stick to it. Most of the film was shot traditional style.

And the eyepatch Indy will never happen. That is non-canon.

Eye-patch probably will never happen...agreed! But mostly traditional???

Goffer in the opening scene?
Monkeys and Shia swingin' on vines?
Giant fire-ants running around AND eating Russian guy?
Sword fight atop the jeeps in the jungle?
Giant whirlwind vacuum into inner-space at the end???

Even the whole film's color-scheme was overly bright and washed out via computer! I Didn't see alot of cool model making, lo-tech like the originals (i.e. mine car models, face-melting, etc.) in my opinion!!

But I still own KOTCS and would surely see a pt. V!!!

And again, it was shot mostly traditional style. Real sets and locations.

You're arguing about stuff that can't be done traditional.

That would be like complaining about stop motion or special effects in the first 3.

The first three films were very effects heavy despite the amount of traditional on set stunts and practical effects, specifically in Temple of Doom. All of the films are goofy fun pulp adventures. Skull fits in perfectly with the style of the first three while adding its own unique twists for the characters.

The color scheme in Raiders and Crusade is very bright and colorful. Raiders as a certain haze to it which they emulated in the latest adventure as well. It was not done via computer from what I could tell though. It was all practically done in camera by Kaminski.

I thought I read somehwere that Indy IV was possibly going to start a new series featuring Indy jr. as the main character.

I hope there isn't any stupid scenes like the atom bomb/refrigerator scene in IV.
